La Fontanella Ristorante — Restaurant in Bonita Springs

It hurts me to write this but I thought the owner should know our experience last nite.. we are regular's..once a week regulars… and the service by our server was so beyond rude and disrespectful! We still had our appetizers in our mouths eating and they brought out our main courses and literally placed them on the side.. my husband nicely said as you can see we aren’t even done with our appetizers please bring mains back a few minutes after we r done.. we were done and within two seconds slapped our mains down..spoke to our server about this (white haired gentleman) and received such a rude and disrespectful banter.. he said I pride myself on when to space out the meals and then continued to be rude and disrespectful and dismissive! The owner wasn’t there last nite and I know THIS never would of happened.. the woman who was manning the front was extremely apologetic gave us free desert and tried everything in her power to rectify what had happened to us.. like I said we were regulars.. but not sure if we are returning after what happened last nite.. that server was probably one of the rudest we have ever dealt with down here.. and it’s a shame.. it’s a great restaurant nice people great food but when you have a server who behaved the way he did last nite not sure if we will be back..hopefully the owner will read this and let his server know that his behavior lost a regular customer because of him.....

After I saw this restaurant highly reviewed recently, we decided to check it out with some friends who said they'd never heard of it before either. So, what a find!! Hidden a bit in the Pelican Bay Plaza, we couldn't have been more pleased. The service (ask for Carmen!) was terrific, professional, and very accommodating. The restaurant itself is very pleasing in ambiance. The food and wine excellent. There's a regular menu but also a daily special menu with so many other choices; it was hard to choose. I ordered a sea bass dish... cooked to perfection! My dinner companions finished everything on their plates and for the first few minutes after serving us, I don't think anyone talked! We were just privately enjoying our meals. We also took Carmen's recommendation of the chocolate cake dessert which we all shared and this should NOT be missed! It was heavenly!!! We will all be back again soon! And as one of my friends exclaimed as we were getting ready to head out, "I don't know why I've never heard of this...

Our family has been going to La Fontanella for many years. This was our 4th year having Chritmas dinner there with our family. We were a party of seven and four of us having the same meal ,their special that evening, became ill. I mentioned to the waiter that my lobster tail did not taste well with green mush in the tail. He proceeded to cut the lobster up on my plate and said it was fine. After another bite or two I asked for a different replacement meal. Later that evening the four of us became ill within 24 hrs. I called to let them know and both the manager and owner were rude and very offensive and defensive. As a loyal patron, I felt as though they really didn't care about us as they said no one else reported any illness. I guess the four of us did not matter.
