am a pretty understanding person when it comes to the food industry as I have spent my whole life working in that very industry and I don not usually take the time to write reviews, however this experience should serve as a warning to all other sushi "lovers" of the world. I was satisfying my craving for sushi and decided to try a new place close to my house in Boonton. I walked in ordered the Spicy Tuna 3 rolls and a salad. The time from ordering to walking out the door was about 5 minutes (honestly the only reason they would get a one star). When I began to eat my meal I was underwhelmed to say the least. The Spicy tuna roll had little to no spicy mayo incorporated into said roll, and the lack of soy sauce was upsetting. The roll basically tasted like someone took the beautiful tuna roughly chopped it, there were huge chunks of tuna still in it, and wrapped it (poorly, as it fell apart) in the rice. But wait here is the best part! After eating what I could force myself to do so I felt as though there was something in my throat! I went about my work day not having the time to shine a light down there to check it out until much later and to my dismay there was a VERY LARGE PIN BONE STICKING OUT FROM THE SIDE OF MY THROAT! Needless to say this was a terrible experience and I WILL NOT RETURN TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT, it's a shame really because I eat sushi a minimum of 3 times a month.

On top of a hill on Main Street in Boonton, NJ sits a very nondescript neighborhood sushi restaurant, but don’t let looks fool you. This small casual eatery is slinging out omakase quality fish. The chef’s here are consistent. They take pride in the quality of fish that they offer which changes weekly if not daily depending on what their distributor has to offer. Many of the choices you will not see unless you partake in a $150+ omakase menu. Some of our favorite pieces include the NegiToro hand roll which they add chopped Japanese radish, scallions and sesame seeds to. Outstanding! We are also big fans of their Artic Char which gets paired with sliced avocado, their hamachi (yellowtail) seared salmon belly which just melts in your mouth, their madai is spectacular, scallops are delicious, sea eel is done right! The Mr Power Roll is one of our favorite rolls. We have added the Sushi House to our normal weekly rotation at our home. The prices are very reasonable and the quality is outstanding.

Cozy. Quality of food is good. Sushi chefs work quick - we always get party boat C and it always gets to us very fast even when the place is packed. They close between 2 - 4pm. Last time we got there a little before 2pm and was promptly served, we wanted to order more sushi and several deserts but we were neglected, then rushed and practically pushed out the door a minute after our last bite. P.S. while still in the middle of our meal, a worker brought out sleeping pillows and put them right on the table before some of the staff took and went to sleep. Wish they didn't put sleeping pillows right on the table and wish they just told us to go somewhere else and can't serve us because they were closing soon for their afternoon break.

I am very disappointed in your staff and the way they are trained. I just got hung up on by your employee, who told me she was the manager of the restaurant. It clearly states in my record that I have always gotten no ginger, extra wasabi with my order. I have been coming to Boonton sushi house for over 1 year, EVERY single Friday with the SAME exact order. This employee claims that today when she took my order, she confirmed with me that I get no ginger and no wasabi which obviously is incorrect. I had a young child in the car who was being loud and apparently I did not hear that she said no wasabi and confirmed it but telling her no ginger, extra wasabi. When I called the restaurant and she was the one who picked up the phone I explained to her the situation and she kept arguing with me for almost 5 minutes and would not even let me speak as she was speaking over me. She had the audacity to hang up on me as I was speaking. Instead of accepting that there was an error made and asking the customer what she can do to fix the situation she took the route of being the rudest restaurant employee I have ever met and hung up on the customer. You now lost your weekly customer and I will make sure that every person I know is aware of the way your employees are trained or untrained to be exact. I even left $1.45 tip for my to-go order to abide by your restaurant rules of $10 minimum on credit card to make sure that you got the extra money. Shame on...

My sushi rolls and uni sashimi were fresh and delicious. However, the staff was slow and it was the longest I ever had to wait for a small order of sushi - 1 hour. It was Sunday at 7:15pm and it wasn't super busy. There were 3 sushi chefs preparing the food but for whatever reason it just took a long time. The waitress didn't keep me posted and I had to wave her down after 40 minutes to check on the status. She did fill my empty glass of water one time. Then after I finished the dinner she and most of the staff were having their dinner and I wasn't attended to. Again I had to grab their attention to get the check. After I received it and was ready to pay no one was there to pick up my payment so I got up to the cashier to pay it. It must have been one of their off days based on what I've read of the other reviews. Since it was my first time at this restaurant, I didn't have a good impression. Perhaps I'll try them again on a different day. I will at least emphasize that the sushi was...
