My happy place! Come for the coffee, community & aesthetic (merch + shop’s theme). CatFight packs a punch in the best way possible. Here’s how:
Their coffee is top notch in taste and creativity. What’s fun is you can choose to add on “smoke bubble” to your hot or cold beverage. It is magical to watch and then blowout. Their menu has consistent variety (new options) always venturing to try new offerings yet staying true to core menu items. A staple is their Black Heart Latte (which tastes like Almond Joy candy in beverage form. It’s made with charcoal extract.) Don’t let the charcoal fool you, it’s quite good. The Ghost Flower Latte is simply delightful (it’s a light, not too sweet, honey flavored drink with edible flowers atop it. It’s pretty & tasty!)
CatFight’s staff is super friendly and personable. I frequent here enough that they know me by name and always welcome me. That extra layer of customer service really adds to the local coffee shop feel. Something I feel isn’t as common place. Dan & Jon bring great energy and prepare excellent coffees.
Community - CatFight isn’t just a place to drink coffee but they really have a presence here in Boonton. CatFight has monthly events like movie nights, patch making and a bunch more. CatFight is heavily invested in making Boonton blossom (not just with events but supporting other local shops too) and having a presence. I really admire that CatFight cares and wants to be involved in town.
Their merch is top notch. Their designer is extremely creative. What’s fun is there are always rotating designs and fresh takes that feature their cat design. My personal favorite is their homage to the Boonton Opera House because it plays into their town!
If horror isn’t your vibe, don’t let this place scare you off. It’s kid friendly and cute yet spooky. It’s tastefully decorated and knows how to execute a theme. They have awesome windowsill seating, a selfie mirror, life size animatronics (Mars Attacks characters or Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride Victor and Emily) and secret doorway bathroom.
CatFight is spooktacular. I’m so happy CatFight is a part of the...
Read moreThis is a very cool spot. And the traffic clearly reflects it. There was a line the whole length of the cafe for our entire visit. The theme of cats, Halloween, and lightheaded horror is clear and consistent. All of the signage follows the orange and black color scheme. There are two full size martians adding to the decor. Even the customers added to the ambience. I saw more fantastic classic band tees than I've seen all year up until now We had plenty of time to observe it all while going through the line. The employees were all super positive and frequently thanked customers for their patience and patronage. They explained that they were doing everything they could to keep things going as quickly as they could. It was great proactive customer service and I didn't hear a single patron grumbling about the wait. They have a good selection of drinks and a few choice pastry selections. Everything that we had was excellent. It is all made well with high quality ingredients. It comes at a premium price, but it is premium quality and worth the splurge There are tons of fun little details from the Martians to the bookcase door. They carry some fun fully licensed cross branded bag of coffee (Creepshow, Misfits, Alice Cooper, etc.) It is a fun, unique, independent, local business that lives up...
Read moreBoonton has a bunch of coffee places within walking distance. I won't lie - my first place to go is boonton coffee. But if the place is packed and I can't get a table, this is next place up.
The coffee drinks are rock solid. Talk to the barista on what to get. I prefer an oatmilk latte and I have never had complaints. I like it strong, a tad bitter, and this place serves it up the way I like it.
My daughter gets the iced creme brulee latte. This thing has a bubble on top where when you pop it, you get a nice smoky sweet smell. I just can't do it In the winter.
The food options are fine. My son gets an apple cider donut.
So why boonton coffee over this place? Boonton coffee may have more food options and longer hours. So I will go to a coffee shop to work. If I work too long. I may get in the mood for toast or something. But if you are going to go meet someone for an hour or just get solid coffee... This play serves up the bill.
OH... I like the doorway to the bathroom. It's unique. Reminds me of the bathroom entry at jekyll and hyde in nyc from long ago.
I will...
