As soothing as it can be…

These days sun sets very early and there is only Morning-afternoon and night. Where the heck is evening dude? Never mind, winter evening did not damp our mood and we headed to this cute café. Evening coffee/snack time –this is something I like to spend with my cute wife but we don’t have many cute small cafes around us and no I am not counting Starbucks. ( don’t like chains). Been to Europe and there was no shortage of these cute cafes.

Coming to Boonton Coffee co. The shop is located in a cute Boonton town. Its a bit hilly area. Parking is available at the street side. It is right across the USPS Boonton. In the shop, Guy over the counter ( Philip, is that you ? ) was super friendly. He helped us in making the order. We ordered hot chocolate and banana cake. Both were superb. It was nice sipping hot cocoa on the red couch near the big glass window looking over the street. They have set it up very beautifully. Small bookshelf in the corner, merchandise, cute couches, and sofa. If you are in the area, give it a chance.

2nd update (29-Jan-23) So Boonton coffee has changed its location (they just shifted to their left) and it’s huge. Ample space, sit-chat-work-have a sip, it’s an altogether new experience. They also have a live section ( I did not catch anything when I was there), but the info is on their website and Instagram page They also introduced a wine and cheese board (saw that on the menu) -unusual but considering its ambiance – it's really cool…

Of course, the merch section is there too...one of the best coffee places in the whole of...

Normally a great spot with amazing staff and good Coffee. Just not today or just not the day staff?! Not sure. The young man today with black hair and a nose ring was messing up everybody's order. A woman in front wanted a large to-go, he made a medium for here. Oh Sorry I will re-make that for you. Which then put everybody else behind. Then my order which was before the mix-up got overlooked and forgotten about. I let 10 min go by as I get it, they are busy and things can happen. I approached said sorry you forgot about my Lattee....are you sure?!?.....OH YEAAAH He goes I wasn't sure if I made that or not?!? OOOOK. So yes please Large and For HERE thanks. I waited another 5min LARGE LATTE in a to-go cup......OH MAN, Did you want that for here?!? YES!!! But ill take it. It was so overly hot I for the first time burnt my mouth like when you eat a hot cheese pizza too quickly. It was a ruined experience and the whole reason I went in was I was having a bad day and was looking for a nice relaxing escape. I basically was so mad it ruined everything and I GAVE A TIP BEFOREHAND!!!! Which I hate having to do and was so Ironic. That I give the world optimism and I was ignored, given the wrong cup, and burnt my mouth. THANKS guy who could care less working at Boonton Coffee Co. Please try harder than you did today, because if it happens again I will not be returning. I come often and I always post my visits on social media and I really just didnt want to today. The owner and his employee mistreated my husband.

I told my husband to go do work there. I used to rave about this place. I would tell people -I am able drink coffee, eat, and get work done. I actually go with my kids there to get get coffee and hot chocolate while I wait for my son to get out of Karate 1-2 times a week.

My husband had back to back meetings that day so wasn’t able to buy something right away and one of the employees kept interrupting his meeting to tell him he had to leave or buy something right away, my husband told him he would after his meeting. The employee put the owner Frankie on the phone, my husband thought everything was okay after speaking to him. After my husband's meeting finished he went to buy a coffee and parfait. The owner showed up to the store shortly after and told him he doesn't give a __ about his meetings and that he should buying every hour he spends there. He ended up leaving after that.

While I understand Frankie's concern about people sitting and not purchasing that is not who we are as people. We live in the town and go there often and purchase coffee often (sometimes without even sitting and taking up space). My husband did buy something after his meeting like he said he would. There was no need for the disrespect, vulgarity, and mistreatment. WE have never been treated like this by a business owner or employee. It’s disappointing and hurtful.
