Derailed Coffee Bar & Cafe — Restaurant in Boonville

TLDR: The coffee is tasty everytime and atmosphere is good but the customer service is terrible.

The coffee here is great and I love supporting a small local business. There's also a cute little dog and a they have some rotating seasonal menu items. My issue is that I have allergies and anytime I ask if a something has dairy in it (an extremely common food allergy) the response makes me feel stupid and belittled. Today was the THIRD time this has happened so it wasn't like they were just having a bad day. I'm not sure how simply asking if something contains dairy is irritating but in my opinion even if it you were annoyed you could at least try to pretend you're not upset with someone who is giving you their hard earned money. My husband and I stopped in and an older woman was there. I believe she was the owner. We gave our orders and she acted like she had no idea what we were talking about because we didn't say it exactly what the menu did. We were wearing our masks because my husband is a doctor in a covid19 unit, and that was an obvious issue. There were other customers in who she was very nice and personable too, however to us it was the biggest KAREN energy ever. The coffee was not worth the rude attitude, and effort it took not to ask if she was having a bad day. There is a good variety of unique sandwiches, salads, and coffee drinks. Both baristas who helped me were so pleasant and sweet. My family and I ordered the Derailed pulled pork sandwich, Turkey delight, and Cuban hobo. The bread was fresh and perfect. My sandwich has lovely and delicious pickled onions and tender pulled pork. We all loved everything we ordered!!!!

The entire cafe was very clean including the bathroom. I would definitely recommend stopping by this gem if you are traveling through, or if you just want some ambiance and a good ole' samich'...
