Chickie's & Pete's — Restaurant in Bordentown Township

Had dinner here last night...First it was hotter inside the building then it was outside and it was HOT outside! Wish the Hostess had given us the option to be seated outside, would have requested it had we have known, but we came with friends that invited us, and they spoke with the Hostess! Seated at the table a long time with no server stopping by! Some of the older guests did not understand how to use their cell phones to pull up the touchless menus, nor had we been told this was how to obtain the menu. So, we give our phones to those that could not understand how to obtain the menu and we still waited to be acknowledged by a server. Finally a server stopped by we ordered 2 baskets crabfries and beverages, and off she went. Another long wait and drinks arrived. Half of everyone's beverages consumed and the crabfries arrived. Server returned to take orders from 5 of us. The fries all consumed and beverages all gone and no food has arrived. Then one sandwich arrives. A long period of time passes and we all tell her to go ahead and eat before it gets cold, that made her feel very awkward. Several more minutes go by and two more sandwiches arrive. Still two of us are waiting. Mussels and a salad, who would have guessed that we still had a wait for these dishes! Finally the mussels arrive! The sandwiches almost completely consumed. Still no salad! Finally several minutes later the salad arrives! Being high allergenic to Penicillin, mold, blue cheese, etc.... I ordered the Mediterranean salad add chicken with no substitutions to make it easy and it had feta cheese, okay to eat for me! Noticed the cheese was blue cheese, not feta! Good thing I took my time and didn't dig in, even though everyone else was done or almost finished! Finally got the servers attention and pointed out the problem and told her I'm highly allergic and I didn't want to go to the ER tonight! The salad came out again this time you could tell it was thrown together fast and parts of the old salad put on to the New salad that scared me! If this dinner was not a treat from friends, I would have sent it back and not eaten here! So, I ate the chicken and preyed it hadn't touched the blue cheese, I don't want to spoil the visit with friend with a trip to the ER! We have been here many times over the years and this was the worst visit ever! If I had been paying for dinner the Manager would have been called over to correct the issues! Took the salad to go, so everyone didn't have to wait, but I couldn't get my self to eat it, I threw it in the garbage when I came home! What a waste of time and money spent at Chickie's & Pete's! Just a quick note to let everyone know what kind of people they have at the front hostess desk in Bordentown. As a frequent patron, this is usually the worst part of my experience. This time it was completely horrible. My family was sat by a typically miserable hostess. Usually, we get no smile or warmth from these members of the staff and this time was no different. I want to start out by saying that I have a six year old child who is an extremely picky eater and we are going through a phase of only eating McDonald's chicken nuggets. It's a struggle to say the least, however I'm sure there are parents out there who would understand. Occasionally, we have brought a six piece nugget or Goldfish crackers in the restaurant, however we also order him fries and milk from the server. Aside from that my family and I always order food and drinks off the menu, so I was never aware that this was an issue. We always clean every trace of what we have brought in for him. Anyways, after seconds of sitting down, a hostess named Allie came flying over to our table. She quickly continued to aggressively stand over my young child, pointing and yelling and him saying this wasn't allowed and that he needed to go outside in the cold to eat his nuggets or that my family needed to leave. My child was terrified. Her actions were loud, VERY aggressive and embarrassing. Every single surrounding table was looking at us in shock, including other employees who were passing by. Allie could have come around the table and spoken calmly to the adults about the policy and we would have been happy to comply. Instead she focused her anger DIRECTLY to my child. Her behavior was disgusting and abusive to say the least. Once Allie realized her behavior wasn't effective, she said she was sending over the manager to kick us out. The manager was very kind and handled the situation well. He informed us on the policy and our server was great. The server was also mortified by Allie's behavior and rightly so. I'm honestly in shock at how we were treated and most importantly, how my young child was treated. My child left in tears and has already told me that he's afraid to go back. We may never go back, but if we do I promise not to bring outside food, even if it is something very small. I really hope that nobody else has to experience Allie's aggressive tone and behavior again. She truly has a long way to go in the customer service field. In fact, I think it's safe to say that customer service is not for her. Overall, children are not...

Wow!!! I have been put on to this new spot and I am throughly impressed. From the moment we got there the staff was super friendly and inviting. This is like sports bar with an upscale twist. Menaing the food and service is top notch. Literally, the food had so much flavor across rhe board. We ordered thr frid calamari and new England clam chowder. Calamari the best we had anywhere. Soup was amazing. My wife and I ordered the Seafood Saute in white wine saude, which was a mixture of classy, mussels, shrimp, lobster and not a little lobster , nice 3 pieces split Tails. I was shocked at how much they gave us. We also ordered 2llbs of snow crab legs. Let me tell you, I thought there was a cook in the back straight from the New Orleans. The whole table was like DAMN this food is kicking. Even my dad, whi so picky and always says food could be better was licking his lips and ordered a whole another rounds of clams in white sause. My mom git the crab cakes, which were divine.. it had lots of crabmeat and not a filling like most crab cakes.. My mom was like these were the best she had from any restaurant in a long time. My btoher and his girls got some mixed drinks that they said were awesome.. he also got the grilled Salamon sandwich which was grilled perfectly. Yup, I took a bite!!! Even the 3 girls, who all got grilled cheese sandwiches macked out their food with excitement. I had a piece of their grilled cheese just to try it and I was like I can eat this whole thing. The bread was amazing and toasted to perfection with melted cheese . Our waitress was amazing, being my first time here, answered all the crazy questions I asked with smile and food was made and brought with speed for the amount of people in restaurant and quality of food they were still able to maintain inevery dish. My bother even got a take home soup container the for whitw wine clam sause cause it was so good and he wanted to go home a dip bread in it. Yup, this place is now permenatly on my top 10 list of family food...
