For the past few years my husband and I have come to the restaurant because it was where we had our first date and we dine often because my husband loves the shrimp and grits. I was diagnosed with Cancer for a 2nd time and no longer dined in the restaurant but ordered take out due to my weakened immune system. Two weeks ago we ordered and the food presentation, taste and quantity was horrible. We went back to 2 John's and asked for the food to be remade and asked for a manager. We were told the manager was gone for the night and the food could not be redone as it was close to closing time. I left my name and number. Fast forward two weeks later, I hadn't heard from management or anyone concerning my complaint so I called back and (this was my 3rd call) spoke to a young lady who had me send pics of my order to her so that she could pass it to the manager who once again had left for the day. Today I called and spoke to Stacy or Tracy who identified herself as the manager. After I explained to her my complaint she stated that the food "looked fine" to her and they weren't going to redo my order even if I did come back that night because "food costs" and stated no one told her I "supposedly" called. She came across very rude and frustrated. Well so was I because we wasted almost $70 on food that wasn't up to par. I have a culinary degree and have worked in the restaurant industry so I know food is supposed to go through checks and balances before it reaches the consumer. As a patron of an establishment that I frequent I expect consistency all around. Food should be appealing to the eyes and nose before it reaches your mouth. THIS WAS A FAIL AND THE WAY I WAS HANDLED AFTERWARDS WAS UNACCEPTABLE! No worries my husband and I will NEVER eat from 2 John's again! PS. That's some kind of manager you guys have there! I'll just bring my business elsewhere where customers are handled well and the restaurant takes pride in what is served and how...
Read moreUnfortunately before I could even be served, I was met with an awful experience. The white valet guy displayed disgusting behavior toward me for no apparent reason. Given that there was inclement weather, I dropped my passenger off at the door. As to not hold up traffic, I pulled away to primp. A few minutes later, I pulled up to the door thinking that I would be greeted by the valet driver. Instead, I was met with a “You can park there.” Of course I’m confused because where I live, valet drivers are friendlier and somewhat classier. The valet boy at this “fancy” establishment was rude and condescending in tone. He went on to say, “ I didn’t know what you were doing, I saw you pull around twice.” What does it matter what I was doing. If I am pulling up to the door with my window down, evidently I am looking to be serviced. The boy should have asked “how can I help you?” It wouldn’t have been an issue had the boy been more friendlier even if it was raining. Secondly, we had reservations set for 1:30pm. We were told abruptly that we must order because the kitchen closed at 2pm. I believe that information should have been relayed upon us being seated or better yet upon the reservation being set. Additionally, SISSY THE WAITRESS had such an ugly attitude to match her unpleasant appearance. She exuded a wicked energy and snarky attitude. The thick size pale face hostess with the black hair also displayed vile energy toward me. I hate that I wasted my time coming; however, I am so happy I was treated with the utmost disrespect. This is not a place for black people. John go ahead and overtly state “WHITES ONLY” for your trashy, classless establishment. Fire the blacks and hire an all white staff, while your at it. I will not give my black dollars to a bigot wide back creature named John & or his spineless klan of nasty...
Read moreOur reservation was for 7 pm… we arrived 10 minutes before. We were told there is a wait…asked about outdoor seating as it was available on a first come first serve. We were told there were several tables that had been closed out and they were just sitting. We decided to wait for our table.. we were finally seated at 7:17 pm. We get drinks and bread and for 15 minutes we wait for our server to come get our appetizer order and we go ahead and give our entrée order… appetizer came out quickly, but the entrees took about 45 minutes so we spent 30 minutes just sitting and waiting- server had not come by to check on us. We finally get our entrees and they were a bit salty. My friends entree was too salty to eat - we asked for another entree to replace the one that was too salty to eat and the server tried to explain its seasoned but we know the difference between salty and seasoned. 30 minutes of waiting for the replacement dish- still no food so we asked to cancel the order and pay for our current ticket. The server said well it’s already been ordered- so we still asked to cancel the dish and bring our ticket. Finally the ticket came we closed out and left… this was our first time dining here and will be our last. It was noisy but we were able to have decent level conversations. I would have liked for our dining experience to be better for the prices and atmosphere. We never saw a manager to address our issues. We had to go to dinner after...
