Posados is a typical Tex-Mex chain. It has a sprawling building with unique decor and a menu loaded with favorites.
I was seated quickly and the gentleman bringing the chips & salsa plopped two bowls on my table. It's almost as if he knew me because I would go through twice that many salsas while I was there. I love my chips & salsa! The chips are a delicious thin white corn variety. While they salsa appears pretty simple on the surface, it has a smoky flavor that makes you go back for more.
Once I asked, she also brought out a basket of fresh flour tortillas for me to indulge in. They had squeezable Parkay on the table and honey syrup to go along with them. I prefer butter to margarine but that's a nit pick.
I ordered the Tres Lunch which lets you pick 3 items. What's cool and unique is you get to pick the sauces too. So I ended up with a chicken chimichanga with white cheese, a pork tamale with chili con carne, and a chicken enchilada with sour cream sauce. As you can tell from my pictures, it was a lot of food but it gave me different things to try. All three items were top notch and I really couldn't pick a favorite. The Spanish rice was a standout bit the charro beans were lacking in flavor and needed a little salt. I needed someone to help me because I couldn't finish my food.
The waitress served me well and I rarely had to wait on anything I needed.
So far this and Ramirez are my favorite Mexican joints in Bossier. Ramirez being more of a typical family Mexican restaurant and Posados being the Tex-Mex king.
I will definitely be back. I love having the option to pick the sauces on my food. That makes this place special. Plus you don't get fresh tortillas...
Read moreI've eaten here many times over the past 10 years, and sadly, the quality has declined greatly. A few years ago they started burning the garlic-herb butter regularly leaving a bitter after-taste; so we stopped coming back. Today we decided to give it another shot, and had a curious mixture of happy and disappointed. With the fajitas I was pleasantly surprised that the sweet-salty herb butter was done right again. But the walls in our booth were a little dirty looking - splashed with food; I would not want to see it under a black light, that's for sure. And the "sides" of sour cream, guacamole, and cheese were now an extra charge - which I wouldn't have minded if the fajitas were good - I don't mind paying for a delicious meal. But I'll come back to this... years ago it was standard to get chips and some soft tortillas while your waited for your meal to arrive. Today the tortillas came only with the fajita. And the fajitas... well here is my opinion: the body of a good fajita consists of a nice skirt-steak strip of beef dipped in melted herb-butter, and is supported by the two legs of onions fried to translucency and green/red bell pepper strips. Today my fajitas were one-legged, and instead of the blessed trinity of flavors, I got steak and onions. The service on the other hand was great, with frequent drink refills and no questions about an order of extra sides and extra "vegetables" (onions) when they ran out; and the check was delivered near the end of the meal, without having to ask. So it's a mixed bag of good and not-so-good. As I said before, I don't mind paying extra for a really good meal, but $15 per person for today's experience was... a bit...

First impression outside: very nice and attractive building. Appears to be a very thought out design. Very inviting and excites you to come and enjoy a nice Mexican meal.
First impression inside: Host appeared to be a manager. He seemed very low energy, not very excited to be there. Walked slowly to seat guest before me and walked slowly to finally seat me.
First sitting down: Waitress seemed nice, she was prompt to ask for my drink order. Chips and hot sauce came quickly afterward. Sat for a while and noticed a musky/armpitish smell (sitting next to the bar). Heard some commotion and notice several of the waiting staff gathered in a circle doing different dance moves. One would challenge the other and so on and so forth. This got the attention of other waiting staff and soon after, had a larger crowd of staff gathered. They did their moves and finished off with clapping and hollering. Not professional. Manager seems to not have full control and respect of staff and seems to not care either way.
Food and service: Hot sauce and chips were good. Good tasting salsa and very good crispy chips. Food came out in a timely manner. Food's appearance was great! (Al Pastor quesadillas) Taste was not as flattering as appearance. Waitress was attentive but could use a little more personality.
All in all, not a great experience. I can look past the sluggish host, the impromptu dance off, and maybe even the smell, but the food was a major let down. I don't think I will give a second chance for a while.
