I stopped in yesterday for Taco Tuesday a special menu that was listed on the website. I was in the mood for Mexican and really wanted a margarita. The server seem to be taken care of the whole place. The bar, the side room where the dance floor is had people in it and people on the patio put back. It was myself and two other women sitting at the bar. At first the waiter seemed okay. Semi-friendly. I asked him a bunch of questions because the last three restaurants I went to had surprise charges on the bill. He seemed to be annoyed by my question. Then I asked him about the tacos and the size of them. He seemed annoyed. I was pretty hungry and was trying to decide whether to get two or three tacos. I'm glad I only got two. It wasn't busy and there were two women cooking in the very small kitchen area. I ordered a white fish taco which I had to ask the waiter what the whitefish was and he said COD. Not quite sure why that wasn't just listed on the menu. And that it was fried. I asked him if it was a decent piece of fish he said yes. I then asked about the shrimp taco. Which I was told only had two shrimp in it for $6. That's ridiculous even in a Mexican restaurant you get 3 or 4. Depending on the size. And then it would come with rice in the taco. I decided on the pulled pork. The cod fish taco with such a small piece of fish which was topped with way too much pineapple salsa. I could barely see the fish or taste it. The fish had no seasoning and was very bland what little piece I got to taste. The pulled pork was mostly coleslaw on the bottom and a little bit of pulled pork on the top which was barely warm. A very good friend of mine performs at the drag Brunch and I told her that I would come in and try the food before buying a ticket to the brunch. I ordered a cocktail of rye whiskey and a little ginger beer with a lime. Old overholt which was more than any place I've ever paid for it. A horrible poor and mostly ginger beer. My experience with the waiter was already not the best. So I didn't want to return or complain about the food and my awful drink. I finished my food and my glass of ginger beer and paid the check. I left him a decent tip but a lot less than I normally tip because I'm in the hospitality business and I always tip 20 to 25% when the service is great and the food is delicious. This is the second time I have visited this establishment. The first time was mediocre in this time was poor. I have three taco places near my house. One of them being street tacos that are a dollar cheaper and more filling of protein in the taco than here. I wanted to like this place so I can come back but everything was very bad. If your price is it going to be that expensive in Dorchester then the food should match the price in portion and in flavor. As a private chef I was totally shocked at the food placed in front of me. This place is in my hood and I want it to like it so I can have a local watering hole. Looks like I will have to keep looking. Maybe in 3 months I will try again. Maybe the service in the food will be a lot better. Right now it's too pricey for what you get for food.

Read moreI left with a sour taste in my mouth due to their unacceptable tap water policy. While the overall experience was satisfactory, the fact that the bartender refused to provide tap water for free is simply unacceptable.
The provision of tap water is a basic expectation in any establishment. It is a fundamental necessity and a gesture of common decency towards customers. Denying access to tap water sends a message that profit takes precedence over customer well-being.
I believe every customer, regardless of their beverage preferences or budget, should have access to free tap water. It is a matter of fairness, inclusivity, and respect. Offering tap water as a standard practice should be a fundamental aspect of any establishment's hospitality and customer service.
I urge Blend to reconsider their policy and recognize the importance of providing tap water free of charge. By doing so, they can demonstrate their commitment to customer satisfaction and ensure a positive and welcoming experience for all patrons.
It is my hope that this feedback is taken seriously, and appropriate steps are taken to rectify this glaring issue. Otherwise, I cannot wholeheartedly recommend Blend to others who value basic...
Read moreFirst impressions are good indicators of what to expect. And blend (yes, lowercase) met my initial thoughts about this place. Fully renovated restaurant and bar (Keno machines are gone) with a new patio. Walk down past the long bar, head right onto the newly laid-out large patio with hugh green umbrellas. The staff (Michael was my server) is super pleasant (make sure to say “Hello” to the bar manager Luis). We shared the generous calamari app with its spicy jalapenos and marinara sauce. Highly recommended. For dinner, I went with the salmon entrée, grilled with a zucchini pepper succotash and a sweet potato puree. Nicely prepared, and delicious! Another recommendation. The chef did a nice job with this dish. My partner loves roasted chicken, and this entrée comes with asparagus, Brussel sprouts, cherry tomatoes, and a house-made white wine mushroom sauce. Superb. Overall, a nice place, friendly staff, delicious food and drinks at a good price. The only down side here – they are only open for dinner a few nights a week! Late night, some tables are pushed aside, and the music and dance floor open up. Great DJ, knows what keeps the crowd moving on their feet. Blend gets my vote for “Best...
