A serene escape from the hectic vibe of the Dorchester neighborhood. Recently came here to enjoy the last bit of good weather on their patio with our dog. Their quaint patio offered a good respite with plenty of seatings, and being familiar with the finesse of Boston Urban Hospitality's portfolio, I stepped in with high expectations. A noticeable departure from their other two upscale spots, Dbar's ambiance resonated more with a laid-back, casual vibe, while the menu hinted at elevated tavern fare. We started our evening with the Veracruz Braised chicken flautas, which aptly mirrored crispy spring rolls, albeit with a Mexican twist. However, the star appetizer for me was the lump crab cake. Bursting with rich crab meat, it danced with the creamy textures of avocado and remoulade, and the grapefruit zest lended a refreshing tang to every bite. For our mains, we had the pork loin and the poke bowl. While the pork loin was a tad dry, the accompanying pumpkin spaetzle made up for it, offering a soft and chewy counterpart. The poke bowl, with fresh tuna and salmon, echoed familiar notes of spicy aioli and sesame soy dressing. It was reminiscent of poke bowls from typical sushi restaurants, but I still enjoyed it. Given Dbar's location, frequenting might require a bit of an effort. However, it undeniably offers a lovely patio ambiance and a good dining experience. While I might not venture here again anytime soon, for anyone in the neighborhood or looking for a patio experience, Dbar is worth a try.

Talk about hospitality, dbar was so wonderful. Rob was amazing, he got us seated in the beautiful outdoor patio and proceeded to drag over 3 heaters to make sure we were warm and comfortable. Since the the server inside was slammed he took our orders and was our server. His suggestions were delicious and on point. Despite the freezing weather and his tshirt, he checked on us frequently and made sure we were cozy. We had the "grow a pear", "spicy orange margarita" and sangria and they were absolutely delicious drinks. Not too sweet and perfectly spiced. I'm very picky about my cocktails especially about the sweetness. These were delicately balanced and had a lovely heat that was perfect for the chilly weather outside. The apps: burrata, mussels and calamari. Very good! The mains: chicken enchiladas and steak were excellently cooked. Beautiful. I don't usually leave reviews. But if the service and product are more than praiseworthy, they deserve recognition.

Dbar is always a good time. A local neighborhood spot that has flavorful food with delicious and smooth drinks. The best dish of the night was the pork belly mac & cheese. The sound of the pork belly being cut was enough to stop me mid conversation 😀 The burger was ok. The calamari was a special which was a sweet chilli, papaya salad situation that was good. The mussels were meaty and the tomato base sauce was good it was just missing the bread on the side. They didn't have any dessert options when I asked but I honestly didn't need any. I left feeling satisfied and had a great time dancing as well.

My friend and I went to dbar for breakfast on Sunday. The drinks menu is twice as big as the food offerings! I just had coffee, so I can't testify about the Bloody Mary, but, man, so many drink choices. The cheddar and bacon omelette was good but oh Lord, those breakfast potatoes were amazing! Perfectly crispy outside, fluffy inside. The bathroom is a bit odd. Multiple stalls, co-ed. Hmmm. Dark interior, cozy. Would certainly return!

ADDED UPDATE AT END. Been coming here for 15 years and so glad they made it through the last few years. Neighborhood favorite and we even had our wedding dinner here years ago. BUT, if a customer wants aioli, just make it. Third time we have asked for a side of it and were told we don't have it. Chefs, it's mayo and spice, which make all the fries nice. UPDATE: aioli is back on and it was delish!

Really enjoyed my meal at dbar for Dine Out Boston! We were served by Julian who gave us stellar service. I really enjoyed the pork shoulder tacos, which was interesting because I'm not usually into tacos. The entrees were universally over salted but still quite tasty and well made and presented. We loved the outdoor seating and decor. Looking forward to coming back.
