I wish I could give a half-point, as I think somewhere between a 4 and 5 is appropriate. I thought the value for the quality of food was good. For a table of four, who got: two pizzas, 7 drinks, and 4 apps we spent about 210 including tip. The food itself was well-made. The flavors were fresh, and leaned heavily into garlic and Mediterranean seasonings. Some of the appetizers were substantially smaller than others, but this was mostly reflected in their price. I probably wouldn't get the meatballs again - 3 average sized meatballs were 12 or 13 dollars, and the flavor - while good - wasn't as rich as I was hoping.
The cheese board and chicken shawarma were both excellent, though the shawarma could have used more chicken on the plate. The cheese board offered a good variety and portion amount of their various cheeses and pickled vegetables, and the chili jam was a lovely mix of sweet and spicy. The pork belly salad app offered bright southeast Asian flavors in the salad portion - leaning into vinegar and fish sauce umami notes - while the pork belly was crispy and crackling. I do wish the pieces were a bit larger, as each was two scant bites.
The pizzas were top-notch, featuring blistered crusts and a great crunch, with rich sauce and ample toppings. The sausage pizza was my favorite of the two we got (the other being the Killer B), as the fennel sausage added an appreciated savory and nutty note.
I'd go back, particularly once the weather warms and you can sit...
Read moreBrewer's Fork is a rustic, atmospheric hangout in Charlestown that serves up craft draft beers, cider, cocktails, and wood-fired chow. It is consistently praised for its delicious food, great selection of drinks, and lively atmosphere.
Here are some of the things that I love about Brewer's Fork:
The pizza: The wood-fired pizzas are the star of the show, with a thin crust, fresh toppings, and a perfect char.
The beer: Brewer's Fork has a wide selection of beers on tap, from local favorites to hard-to-find imports.
The atmosphere: The restaurant is cozy and inviting, with a warm fireplace and plenty of seating.
The service: The staff is friendly and attentive, making sure that you have a great experience.
Of course, no place is perfect, and there are a few things to keep in mind:
The wait: Brewer's Fork can get crowded, especially on weekends, so be prepared for a wait for a table.
The noise level: The restaurant can be quite loud, especially when it's busy.
The limited menu: The menu is relatively small, so if you're looking for a huge selection of options, you might be disappointed.
Overall, Brewer's Fork is a good spot for a casual meal or drinks with friends. If you're looking for a delicious pizza and a fun atmosphere, I would recommend checking it out.
Here are some additional tips:
If you can, go during the week to avoid the crowds.

Read moreStumbled across this place one night and it’s honestly one of my new favorite places. I go jogging in Charlestown and on nights when I wanna treat I’ll stop in for dinner. They are really thorough with cleaning and safety protocols (COVID-19 times), and the service is fantastic! Everyone from the greeter to the waitstaff is very professional and well trained. They make you feel like family. Given the name, I think most people probably come for beer and dinner. I’m more of a wine guy, and their wine list was a pleasant surprise. I was expecting some boring options thrown on the menu for people who don’t want beer, but instead they have a small and fantastic section of wines by the glass, all of which are unique and delicious. I’ve tried all of their whites, and two of their three rosés. All excellent, and thoughtfully paired. (And the pours are generous.) I’ve been three times in four weeks and always get the same thing for dinner because it’s so, so good: the flatbread salad. I’ll transition to more substantial options once the weather starts to cool, but for now this is so good that I can’t bring myself to try anything new. Definitely my favorite new restaurant of 2020! Keep up the excellence, Brewers Fork. You’re doing...
