Update to this review - after being willing to give this location a chance in speaking with upper manager over the course of a few months - it is obvious that Tatte does not care about it's guests.
Upper management has told me personally that they proof that staff is not following any standard for safety with food allergies, despite it being explicitly communicated to them when guests order.
Multiple members of their own staff have gone to HR to report the toxicity of this location, and nothing changes. They keep the same people, they allow them to continue to disregard safety, and they let the good ones go or have them move to other stores.
The only reason I know any of this, is because I was specifically targeted, at this location.
They keep staff that bully and harass management, other staff, and even guests publicly, even when they witness staff being disrespectful.
I've been told by multiple team members at this location or that used to be at this location, that staff is outwardly hostile to specific guests that point out when staff isn't following protocol or not taking note of their allergy.
I've also been told by upper management, that they have personally witnessed the back-talking and rude behavior of the staff that has been communicated by others.
Tatte has chosen to put their guests health at risk by having staff that don't understand what a dietary allergy or restriction is, and additionally were not properly trained.
I've ordered food from this specific location multiple times only to find out that the food I have an intolerance to is in what I ordered when I have a reaction later.
Worse, I've asked for clarity from two different managers at this store, and they did not do their due diligence and confirm until after I've ordered something, more than once.
I sat next to two women, two days in a row, who also had dietary restrictions and they messed up both of their orders, two days in a row, more than once, on each day. It got to the point they just stopped sending it back to be right, when the even the slip they had with the food specifications was accurate.
This wasn't the old Tatte - the current management is a joke at this location and actively joins in and promotes the mistreatment and bullying even of guests.
And none of this is unknown to the highest levels of management in Tatte. They just don't care to actually do anything about the staff that are causing all of...
Read moreAbout 6 months ago I visited Tatte in Charlestown for the very first time and ordered the Turkey BLAT Sandwich. It was wonderful! I bragged about it to everyone and recommended Tatte to everyone I came in contact with (which happens to be a lot of people, since I work in the Navy Yard in the tourist area). I thought I had found my go to place! Wrong! I ordered the sandwich again during the past few months on 4 different occasions, only to get mostly bread and dressings, barely cooked bacon and 1 slice of turkey! I kept ordering hoping it would get better but it didn’t! This last time, about a week ago, I decided that’s it! I returned my sandwich and they cooked the bacon finally thoroughly, but still never added more turkey! I’m not paying their prices for just bread, lettuce, tomatoes, guacamole and the lack of bacon and turkey!! I could put a pound of bacon and turkey on my own homemade sandwich for what they charge! I also have decided to write this, to let people know that I do not recommend them anymore, until they can get their portions back to the way they were when I first visited them! I will take my business and recommendations to Sorelle and The Style Cafe instead! I give you one star just because you truly had a great tasting and perfectly portioned sandwich...

Avoid if: You are unwilling to wait for a table or your drink, or go with a large group of people and expect to sit together. You might spend $35 if you order a brunch plate, pastry, and drink - be forewarned.
Something surprising: If you go early on a weekend, it's pretty easy to find nearby street parking.
Reservation needed? No, counter service only.
Overall Experience: 4/5. Like all of their locations, this place is always busy, and for good reason. The only complaints are that the staff holding down the point of sale system always seem a bit lost, and it often takes 15-20 minutes to get your drink despite the bar having three baristas.
