I DONT KNOW IF YOU WERE THE MANAGER BUT I HOPE HE WILL READ THIS! I was planning on giving them 5 stars yesterday but I had to change my mind after my second visit today. Yesterday morning was my first time there, I had a very friendly man greeting me, making my bagels, giving me tips what tastes good and smalltalking with me. It was a blast starting my vacation day like that and I told my husband we would need to come back the rest of our days in boston even though we have to walk 30 min there. So we did today and it was a disaster! Diane and Micah didn't even care about us wanting to order. When she started doing my bagle she first said she is out of the white cheese so she just takes the other (which can happen but maybe ask first?) but Micah went in the back that second and got her the right cheese (2 packs) laughing at her not even carrying to look for it. She did not say sorry nor reacted in any way with us. Instead she just throw the bagle together half hearted with most of the cheese outside the bagle and put everything in a bag. I told her we would have one more bagle to order but she just gave us the bag, after I had to tell her several times that we want another one because she was making jokes with her colleague instead of listening she started the other bagle. Both were still talking loudly spanish and laughing not caring about customers. Finally ordering my coffee with Micah he was still busy finishing the costumer before us (pretty blond womsn) he made weird inappropriate jokes and she didn't really understood what he meant. She tried to ignore it and felt obviously uncomfortable. When it was our turn he also didn't listen what I ordered asked several times about my simple coffee order and got mad when I corrected him. Sorry if it bothers you, but its what I wanted and pay for! In between the man from yesterday came in the shop and both got quiet and started paying attention. I dont know if he was the manager but those two people will cost you a lot of business. We are just tourists but we already decided to go somewhere else the last 3 days we are...
Read moreI’ve been going to Bruegger’s for 20+ years, always grabbing a bagel after getting off the T and walking to Children’s.
Bruegger’s has a huge selection of freshly-made Bagels. The bagels are kettle-boiled. They have every bagel, from sweet to savory. The cream cheese selection is equally impressive.
The cream cheese is made-in-Vermont. They have every variety and flavor, from sweet to savory. My personal favorite is the Onion and Chive cream cheese. I’m weird, I’ll get it on a Blueberry or Chocolate chip bagel.
If you are hungry for more than just a bagel, you MUST check out their Signature Breakfast Sandwiches. My personal favorite and go-to is the “Farmhouse” breakfast sandwich.
It is loaded with serious flavor. Two fresh eggs, ham, cheddar cheese, & bacon are served on a Toasted Cheesy Hash Brown bagel with country-pepper cream cheese. Bursting with flavor and I’m usually full the rest of the day!
If you’re a lunch person, they do have a solid selection of sandwiches served on a bagel. The dessert menu could certainly use a few more options to choose from! If you’re a fan of coffee and iced coffees, they have you covered. Personally, I’m not a huge coffee person.
I will say Bruegger’s has changed, and not in a good way. The staff are incredibly rude and short. This is commonplace at all their locations. They act inconvenienced that a customer came into the store. These days, I just have it delivered to avoid being treated with an attitude.
I also have noticed the bagels have become smaller in size. Consistency is also an issue, many times the bagels are over cooked or hard. Luckily, that wasn’t the case today!
The order was made correctly and delivered fresh & hot! If you’re looking for a solid breakfast sandwich on a bagel, Bruegger’s has you covered!
They could improve by not shrinking the size of the bagels. Furthermore, new employees with a good attitude is needed at all...
Read moreOkay, I've given them more than a fair share of chances and after repetitive disappointments, I have to write this review. The decline over the past 8 months is measurable in the quality of service, attention to the customer, knowledge about how to do their jobs, and length of time spent on line. There is no more continuity among the employees--one may give you a sliver of a topping and call it a day, the other may scoop a reasonable amount, another might butcher your bagel with way too much. Some cut the bagels, some don't, etc.--there is no uniformity and this kind of roulette is unacceptable. They do not listen to the order, and if they are unsure, they do not ask for clarity. So many times have I had to ask them to take the bagel out of the toaster because I did not say toasted, and they just throw it in there. The "hot" sign is out on bagel baskets that are cold. Since the new management took over, I've not seen one instance of fresh bagels being sold. It's a lucky happen stance now when they get my order right on the first try. Even with the hope of new management, the lack of training and ability of those behind the counter has never given me the comfort that I'll be taken care of. I've been given the wrong spread multiple times. One employee makes me uncomfortable in the way he addresses women vs. men. The number of bad experiences has now so outweighed the times I've actually enjoyed a meal from them that, after today's experience, I will no longer give them my business. It's just too much work and exhaustion at this point. I wish this wasn't the case, but it seems there is no end in sight to the decline of quality at this...
