This place had a nice homely feel. It was comfortable, clean and really safe. I truely had a wonderful time. You are given the phone number for the managers to call and text if you have any questions. They are very responsive.
They leave your reservation info in an envelope, at the front door. You are given your room key, and a pin pad code, from there you go to your room. Your room has a deadbolt lock. Some rooms as I read has bathrooms, but mine didn’t, and that’s okay. The common restroom is right off the little kitchen and dining room. My room had a mini fridge, and tv. There was no AC, but we just opened the window to the side of the room, it helped cool it down a lot.
You will leave your car key under the clock in the kitchen, and they will move cars around depending on when you plan to leave. Make sure to request parking in the reservation- it’s 18$ per day. If you forget, let the managers know and they will make sure it gets sorted out. Quiet hours are 10pm-7am. Breakfast is at 7:30am-9am: they have yogurts, hard boiled eggs, OJ, Milk, Bagels, Cream Cheese, Mini Muffins, Nutri-Grain bars, Tea and Coffee. There is a key drop off box for the second story, right at the top of the stairs. Check out is at 11am, but if you plan to leave sooner, just text the number and they will work with you.
The rooms provide ear plugs. The walls are thin, so you can hear other people around you talking. Also, the beds make noise when you get in and out of them - fyi, Incase you are planning a romantic get away. The floorboards creak no matter how light you try to walk, so you can’t help that.
I stayed here with my husband for the night, I attended the Blink 182 concert at Fenway Park. It was a 6min drive pre-concert, a little longer due to traffic after. I got back at 11:30pm, but I was just mindful of the quiet hours and used my code to get in. In the morning we got to enjoy a nice quick walk to explore all the cute shops around, and some really good sushi🙂. Honestly at first I was skeptical, since I never stayed in an B&B. But oh my, it was actually a really...
Read moreI was disappointed with this experience. It basically brought me back to my college days traveling abroad and staying at hostels. Our room was ok in appearance but I was shocked that we had to share the bathroom down the hall with the entire floor. No water in the room or drinking water. It was stated that the room had ac but our room had a small night stand plug-in unit the size of a coffee maker that made a lot of noise and smelled but didn’t cool so we turned it off. Ear plugs are provided which I used because the office/ living room is literally on the other side of a blocked off door separating the two rooms. The cleaning ladies and guests hanging out in there early were talking all morning which sounded like it was in our room so I was forced to get up early. I didn’t sleep but 2 hours. The room itself burned my eyes and nose all night with some kind of old smokey, chemical smell like an ashtray that was cleaned with chemical but couldn’t get rid of the smell. Breakfast was kind of basic- muffins, packaged bars, coffee, tea, yogurt. The other thing is that we paid for parking except they park on a thin strip driveway (with literally about 6 inches on each side of your door)in a line so you have to leave your key so your car can be moved if someone else had to leave. No thanks. I paid too much for my new car to let someone else navigate that driveway. If that sounds like an adventure to you, and you like random people preparing food in the kitchen, steps away from where you are going to the bathroom or showering (truly), this is your place. Otherwise- most other places would...
Read moreCreepy, creaky and cold. From reviews I can see some people loved it I was not one of them. I look for quirky but this place felt more lazy in decor then designed. Our first night was freezing and our 2nd and 3rd absolutely equatorial. On arrival we were greeted by an envelope on the front door which contained our key, invoice and of course personal information. That was weird, cold and to be honest not appropriate. I value my privacy. The staff we met were nice and apparently the owners live in the basement. Of our three nights we slept so badlly.the creaking floor boards and unregulated heating was a nightmare. And I mean that. Old homes creak but this felt like it should have been noted to prospective guests in advertising. It was awful. We stayed in room 13 also referred to as The Captains Room ( for absolutely no reason apparent to us). I advise asking specifically that you do not get this room. Every movement creaked. It became embarrassing and by day two felt like nails on a chalkboard. Breakfast was mediocre. Yogurt, boiled eggs paid on the table, store bought English muffins Great location, very easy 20 minute train to the commons. Nice town. Would happily return but really sorry I spent three of a ten day trip in this guesthouse. It was impersonal, parts of it looked like the set of the Shinning with three adorned headless mannequins halfway up the stairs and between the cold, heat and floorboards it is impossible to reccomend. We were sorry for our money we hadn't booked elsewhere....
