NEVER AGAIN STEPPING FOOT IN THIS PLACE
I’ve been coming to this place for over three years
I have children who birthdays are in May, August and two birthdays in October
I came to pick up my first order in October which was over $150 my daughter Minnie Mouse cake looked horrible the Minnie Mouse face to be exact ! It look like a rush job and no one took their time I told the older lady who I assume is the Owner she told me she didn’t have the correct items to make the Minnie Mouse she would have to order it and it to short on time Either way I should have received a call or better yet was told on the phone when I place the order that it couldn’t be done !! I expressed to her how unhappy I was with the order and it was my first time not being pleased she seemed to not care Fast forward to cake number two! My pick up time was 2pm on 10/17 I arrived at 2:06 I gave my name for my order and was told to wait a few seconds because the decorator was writing happy birthday fast forward to 15 minutes later I am still waiting I’m asking if my cake was ever done I’m on a time frame why am I still standing here !?! Another ten minutes goes past my cake comes out half done the whole back of the cake is empty Happy birthday was never written Now I am raising hell I told the owner this is the second cake a week apart that they messed up and why did I stand here for over twenty minutes and happy birthday wasn’t written what where y’all doing with the cake ? You guys recieved over $300 from me for the month of October She proceeds to tell me I can go find me a better bakery and she doesn’t care how much I spent or how much she charged me for the cake and if I keep yelling she will make me wait longer and take her time writing happy birthday Oh btw the second cake was always over $150 The girl who told me to wait a few seconds that the man was just writing happy birthday proceeds to now tell me that not what she said she only said he was “writing” I will never step foot back in this place I’m sure if my skin tone was lighter I would have been treated correctly and my order would be fix After me raising hell for ten minutes she then offered to have the decorator do the back of the cake At this point it’s been 40 minutes of me being in the bakery i told her no and made her aware I be writing my review and never returning !!

I contacted Daniel’s Bakery on Tuesday 4/2 to order a simple buttercream (non-custom) cake for a Saturday 4/6 pickup. The initial recommendation for a cake size exceeded my needs, which I later realized. I inquired about downsizing on Thursday 4/4 due to fewer guests. I prefaced the call by saying I understand if the change could not be done because it was 3 days before. I was met with a confusing response about pricing, despite expressing my uncertainty about the explanation given. I was told that a smaller cake would cost the same, so I might as well keep the larger cake that was originally recommended.
On Friday 4/5, I called again to clarify pricing for a smaller cake, which indeed turned out to be lower. When I shared this discrepancy with the new representative, I was transferred to Wanda, who answered brusquely and accused me of dishonesty for seeking clarification on pricing. Her response quickly turned confrontational, with unwarranted accusations and derogatory remarks about me and “entitled” customers in general.
This interaction left me deeply disappointed, especially considering my family’s long-standing patronage at the bakery. The lack of clarity and professionalism in handling customer inquiries was disheartening. I hope Daniel’s Bakery reevaluates its customer service approach to ensure all patrons feel valued and respected. They will probably respond to this review and say they are committed to customer service, but until Wanda readjusts her attitude they will continue to lose customers. Everyone else I spoke with there was so nice, so it’s a real shame Wanda is ruining their business.

Read moreUPDATE: July 2023 I came back for another cake because I had such a great experience the first time minus having to wait for my cake. This time I had a longer wait for my cake which resulted in me being late to the party and having to pay for an additional hour! Why give us a pick up time when the cakes are not going to be ready by said time. Secondly, the buttercream had taste as if it went bad. When I called to express my frustration I was told that they can’t do anything about it; I was suppose to save the cake so that they can taste it as well. I’ve never heard of such practice before to bring a cake that has left your bakery back inside your bakery so you can taste it. Sounds like a health violation to me. I explained to them that I was very pleased the first time around and had planned on making this a staple bakery for my children’s birthday and I had no reason to lie about the quality of cake I had received. My guests literally gagged while eating the cake and the cake was thrown out immediately at the event space. We went back and forth about the cake and I was presently surprised as I had anticipated better customer service from this establish. All in all, I will not be returning and I strongly encourage other families to find better quality bakeries to spend with. I ordered a cake for my daughter’s birthday and I couldn’t have been more happy with the cake. We got so many compliments on the design and the flavor of the cake. Only thing I must say is , they were 30 minutes late for my cake. I had a pick up for 10am and was told to wait but honestly the 30 minute wait was so well worth it so I will give them a 5 star review still. The staff also was very pleasant to deal with.
