Not a pleasant experience! This was my first time eating here. I have ate at other flames throughout the city but heard this location food taste better. However the service from one particular employee wasn't. While eating our food at the table a worker with an unpleasant look kept staring at us from across the room. Minutes later, he walked over to us, didn't greet us or anything saying "Why aren't you eating on that plate?" We tried to explain this was our first time here and we didn't know. He repeated the same question over and over til the point I said sir I am not a child, we are customers and you don't yell at the customer. It's not our fault no one asked us if we were eating here and then when they knew it's not our fault our food wasn't put on plates. The man kept ranting and complaining then all of a sudden he starts talking about us to strangers in the restaurant trying to embarrass us. The man was so unprofessional. He stereotyped us referring to us as YOU PEOPLE! I couldn't believe it. I even heard employees arguing and disputing amongst themselves in the establishment. I just had to write a review I couldn't let this one slide. The manager (Jonathan) was not there for me to immediately complain to. So one of the workers suggested I just let it slide without offering any compensation. I still couldn't believe it. No sorry or apology for the way we were treated. No appreciation for our business. There were flies live and dead in the corner. I will not eat there again. Especially with that type of service I don't care how good...

Been here twice and the service is terrible. Have only dealt with an old lady with braids. She has a terrible attitude. I wouldn't trust eating food from people who seem to hate working there. If you can't bother to be friendly to customers, are you gonna bother washing your hands or maintaining a high level of hygiene? Doubt it! I get disgusting and disgruntled vibes. Also, the food is not that good. Had oxtail, rice and peas, and cabbage. Oxtail was just ok, like maybe they use stale spices. The flavor of oxtail was there but nothing special. It was more oily than flavorful. Rice and peas were ok but rice was a bit overcooked. The cabbage had no flavor. Was looking forward to that oxtail flavor but after 5-6 bites, my stomach hurt. 2nd visit, I didn't even give the food a 2nd chance. I asked if they had rice and peas and the ugly lady said white or yellow. Id never seen yellow rice and peas so I asked if that's still rice and peas. She just said yellow or white. I said yellow is fine. Paid for the food but when I looked in the container it was this dry yellow rice, I said that's not what I asked for and she replied with an attitude. I didn't feel like arguing so I walked out. I returned seconds later to get refunded bc I knew I wasn't going to eat that rice and its not what I ordered. The lady behind the counter almost didn't give me my money but she probably didn't want to have to stay much later as they had about 30-40mins til closing. Not good quality food or people. Would...

I stay in Rhode Island and I used to frequent the Providence flames A LOT! Until their food got too bland and dry. People say they changed to appease yt peepo taste buds in the area but either way, I stopped going there and found Island House on Broad st. Anyway, I always heard that the flames in Boston stayed true to the roots and the flavors were 100% better than Providence. The other day I was in Boston and although flames was 20mins out of the way, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity. My mouth watered the whole ride there and upon arrival, the clerk was so friendly and inviting! I was excited cuz I knew I wanted the jerk chicken. To keep a long story short, the jerk was not jerking, ok. The chicken was drier than a bad joke. No flavor and shredding. I am so sorry because the sweet and spicy chicken was smackin- but that was the highlight because the cabbage was fresh (bland) and the rice and peas had good flavor but there were too many hard pieces of rice in it. Made me question the freshness of it all. I wouldn’t go back there.. I’m wondering now if people in Rhode Island was referring to the next flames in Boston, because Huntington Ave is not giving, at all. My picture is to demonstrate the dryness and lack of seasoning to the chicken. Tasted baked, not grilled. Theres no pics of the sweet and spicy chicken or the HOMEMADE beef patty because we demolished them, they were...

I'm sorry but the food is so GOOD at FLAME that the only pictures that I can post are the bones. You eating you won't find time for break or small talk (in my case take pictures of my food). Don't go to Flame for the greatest customer service, it's a Jamaican restaurant, so expect a little friendly attitude, but I love it. You good to Flame for delicious food and the culture 🇯🇲 😋. You'll find something in the menu for everyone. The Oxtail and Jerk Chicken are my favorite. But everything on that menu is delicious.
