Dr. Zhonghui Katie Luo is a brilliant fellowship-trained senior ophthalmologist at Mass. Eye and Ear, Longwood, Boston, who specializes in cataracts as well as cornea and external disease. Our experience with her has always been a pleasure. We feel safe in her hands. Her examinations are meticulous and thorough. We never feel rushed. She listens carefully to our questions and concerns and explains her diagnosis and proposed treatments in a very clear manner. Her cheerful personality helps to put her patients at ease. My father who suffers from macular degeneration in both eyes has lost the use of one eye. Thus, he had one relatively good eye but with a bad cataract that really clouded his vision and impacted his quality of life. Because this was his good eye, he was naturally nervous to do the surgery. Dr. Luo explained the risks, the details of the procedure, and recovery process/timeline. Dr. Luo performed the surgery, and everything went flawlessly. The next day, when Dr. Luo removed the eye patch, my father could see clear crisp objects and brilliant colors, something he thought he would never be able to see again. His eyes filled with tears of joy. He got up from his chair and gave Dr. Luo a great big heart felt thank you hug. Now my mother is going in for cataract surgery with Dr. Luo and we could not image my mother being in better hands. We highly...

She quickly determined I had a dry eye condition that was the cause + recommended eye drops 3 times a day to stabilize the condition + prevent it from worsening. For some medical problems you have to seek care in Boston rather than locally. Mass Eye + Ear is the...
