We tried this place for the first time through Uber eats. The food was ready within few minutes and got delivered. The food was amazing and delicious. We got the chimichanga and the fajitas. The meat was greatly cooked and the salad and rice were completely fresh. Loved the sauces that came with it but wish it had some jalapenos and sour cream. The beans and sauce tasted the same almost and the tortilla was very small for fajitas. Loved the price and the taste of the food, will visit again. Not sure about the in-person experience and dining atmosphere, as I see lot of bad reviews on here. 🙏🙏🙏🙏👍👍👍👍

Two friends put me on to this place for lunch. A small restaurant walking distance from Brighams. Walking in I saw many people from different backgrounds that made me feel good and comfortable. That day I tried Papusa for the first time. It was really good. Filled with bean and cheese. A coleslaw and savory dressing/sauce. There are menus to take and a big one on the wall with pictures of the dishes. We had horchata and a papaya smoothie. I will be back. Curious about other dishes.

Mmmm… food was on got a Desayuno Tipico it was good just missing the authentic authentic Salvadorian flavors. The pupusas wer extra burnt and didn’t have that pupusas texture or flavor tasted like a burnt quesadilla lol . Service was good. Place was clean. But …… But it was missing that Central American touch…

I am giving this review a one-star rating because something is seriously wrong with this restaurant and the owner needs to take note and get more involved. I have kept myself from leaving a poor review about this restaurant as I very much like their food and have ordered more than 12 times from this place in the past 9 months. However, the complete lack of customer service by the night crew is appalling.

I will elaborate on two recent incidents which are the root of this review. Please keep in mind that it is tough in general when ordering delivery from this restaurant which is why I'm always very careful to articulate exactly what I want, yet more often than not it’s still missing ingredients. However, these two incidents have pushed it to another level.

  1. The first incident happened a few months back. It was late and I ordered delivery via Grubhub from Monte Cristo (the same burrito special meal I always order). The driver called when they arrived, and I was already on my way downstairs to collect the food. Upon getting outside to the front of my building there was no one there. I called the driver and it ends up they mistakenly gave my food to someone else. The driver was very apologetic and said they would be returning to the restaurant to retrieve a replacement meal to deliver. I then spoke to the security guard in my building and told him my situation and asked if anyone had just walked in with delivered food. He said he didn’t see anyone but in reviewing the security footage with me confirmed that a group of guys had taken my food order. I decided to give Monte Cristo a call and explain to them what happened, that someone else took my food and the driver offered to go back for a replacement order. The Monte Cristo employee on the other line had a very bad attitude and she told me I have no proof that I didn’t retrieve the order initially so they will not be sending me a replacement order and will not be refunding my meal and then hung up. Mind you, I was not yelling or speaking angrily with them because all I wanted was my dinner to eat. I tried to call back and got no answer. I then followed up with Grubhub and they did refund me 100% of the meal but I was left in the end with an empty stomach.

  2. The second incident which happened one evening within the past week or so was equally as upsetting. I had ordered the same meal I always do, a vegetarian burrito special with all the fixings I like as well as a side of chips and salsa the special comes with. The only difference was that I ordered through DoorDash instead of Grubhub because sometimes it’s cheaper on one platform than the other and with DoorDash (particularly with Monte Cristo) it arrives on average in about 45 minutes to one hour where as Grubhub is never delivered sooner than one hour and can take up to two hours sometimes. Anyhow, having retrieved my delivery and opening the bag I find only a burrito with no side of the salsa and chips it comes with. I’m willing to let that go, even though I paid about $3.00 extra for it. But what really irked me is when I started eating the burrito, all it was filled with was rice, a very small portion of refried beans and one bite size piece of chicken put right in the middle of my vegetarian burrito. Now I’m not one to place blame where there is no proof, but I have to say that this seemed oddly suspicious and I wouldn’t be surprised if it was deliberate given how obvious it seemed. I did not call the restaurant this time around because by the time the food was delivered Monte Cristo had closed. Instead I placed a complaint with DoorDash to which I received 50% of the cost of the meal back as a credit. I would have preferred 100%, but it’s tough when your refund is electronically calculated for you without speaking to a real person over the phone.

I would like to continue to order food from this restaurant because the food is so very great but they need to treat their customers better and do a better job at making sure they are providing their customers with what they order...

I only gave it 1 star so it cud make the list. I ordered 2 chicken tacos which was the cheapest yet, still expensive for my taste, thing on the menu... it was the WORST tacos I ever had in my life!!! ABSOLUTE WORST!!! Each taco was made up of two small tortillas stuck together with chicken, lots of chopped purple onions, and lots of cilantro. That's it. It didn't really have a flavor. All I cud taste was onions and cilantro (and hotness because I put the hot salsa on the tacos. I can't imagine how more worse they probably would have tasted if I did not put the hot sauce on it.) I don't think they even seasoned the chicken at least. Not to mention the beef tacos cost more than the chicken tacos... Who does that... I've never seen or heard of beef costing more than chicken in any restaurant especially in a fast food restaurant. A little suspicious if you ask me- unless they serving like chopped up steak for beef tacos... O and let's not forget there was some "grittiness" throughout the tacos as if maybe there was grains of dirt in them maybe from the cilantro not been properly washed or something... after all this "horribleness," makes me question if that was even real chicken... can't really say it looked like it was... as for taste- can't really judge by that either seeing as there wasn't really any... need I say more... again I repeat... ABSOLUTE WORST TACOS I EVER HAD IN MY LIFE!!! Taco bell's plain tacos wud beat them in a taco test 100 times over. O but I wud b wrong if I didn't let u kno everything on the menu looks delicious- no for real, it did AND...the tacos "smelled" absolutely divine so judge for yourselves, if u dare- I don't think I will...

Echoing the reviews of others here. My coworkers and I placed an order through Seamless, after waiting for an hour and a half my co-worker called them. The lady (Melissa) she spoke to asked for the delivery address, stated "It's on its way" and hung up on her without providing a delivery estimate. We attempted to call back but there was no answer so we called Seamless and explained the situation. Seamless called them and then called us back. They were told someone attempted to deliver but no-one picked up (which is not true, as three of us were waiting for the phone to ring) and that delivery may take another hour. While Seamless refunded us, we called the restaurant back to find out why it would be an hour when it is only a 14 minute drive away. Melissa spoke to us again, and when pressed as to why she provided conflicting information, claimed that my co-worker had lied to me and hung up. My Co-worker, sitting next to me at the time and obviously offended called back to get the truth. When she spoke to Melissa she was hung up on again. Overall a terrible experience that I have never had with any provider. We have spoken to Seamless regarding removing them from their roster because of how poorly they reflect on the company.

TLDR: They hung up on us three times, lied to us and to the delivery company (Seamless) and called my coworker a liar. Do not...
