This is a great place. Very nice ambience. Very friendly and nice staff. Great cocktails, nice beer list. Great food, particularly appetizers are pretty good. Try the chicken tenders. They also came up with a new tater tots with buffalo chicken, buffalo sauce and cheese curd, which I think is an amazing combination! Their burger is also pretty good. Oh yeah, the Quesadilla (with steak)!Even their salads (shrimp, salmon). And everything is very reasonably priced. A great place to hangout especially if you are in the Longwood Medical Area.
Oh by the way, I think they make one of the best dirty martinis I have had. It really needs a special mention. If this is your drink of choice, must try it here!
Jan 4th 2023: I am adding to my prior review above. After 4years, during the which we repeatedly and regularly came here, their standard has not moved the slightest!! GOOD and CONSISTENT! Beyond COVID, and all this inflation burden, where every commodity/business has spiked, all their prices are still the same!! Mission Bar is not a business for profit, it is an agency for service and happiness to mankind ššš!! Enriching the life of the medical and science professionals in the Longwood Medical Area. Bravo! Deeply moved and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSo we checked out The Mission Bar in our neighborhood for the first time, and yikes! let's just say it was a culinary catastrophe.. Our server was exceptionally courteous and efficient, displaying excellent hospitality. A sweetheart, but the food? Not so sweet. The food's beautiful presentation hinted at greatness, but its taste sadly missed the mark. We sampled several dinner menu items. Regrettably, the quality fell short: some steak was charred beyond recognition, the fried chicken tasted like yesterday's news, and the salmon needed a salt detox. We were too starving to send it back after a long day. Don't expect a repeat visit from us anytime soon. šHint, hint: get your chef in check,Time to revamp the kitchen crew, and by the way, whose bright idea was it to sneak beetroot onto...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWas here to wash away Monday post work blues. I wanted to avoid the crowd during the weekend as Iāve been told that it gets crazy with a huge waiting line. I agree that you miss out on liveliness when itās a weekday but at this point, itās a take what you get sort of thing. Their roasted cauliflower is perfectly sized for an appetizer. The quesadilla is worth trying out as well. Was tempted to try out the veggie burger as it is a homemade patty and not some meatless-meat option, but had to skip since I was fairly full. Their Tropical Mule cocktail was splendid and so was the Caipirinha. On a working weekday, The Mission is a good place to cool off and when you look at the prices, they seem to be fairly reasonable. So,...
