Imagine spending $25+ on two sandwiches and tip and being disrespected by the staff because they assume you have an attitude about the wait times? I’ve ordered from this place numerous times and have waited 20+ minutes for my food and that’s expected and never an issue as quality food takes time to make. I’ve given this coffee shop probably $500 in the last few months, tipped the front staff who are nice for the most part. But there’s this one guy who works there, always angry who decided to give us an attitude while coming to pick up an order 15 minutes after it had been placed. After numerous run ins with him, I just about had it! We did nothing but go up to the counter to pick up when we are met by an angry boss because the order had not been made yet. Whose fault is that? Us the customers or your staff? Then when you are addressed for your attitude, how much sense does it make to double down with even more attitude? To the point that you threathen me with a kitchen knife? Lol you nor that knife was going to stop me from dragging you down Mission Hill. It was the young girls behind the register who are clearly in their 20s and just there to work that stopped things from escalating. They probably experience his attitude every day. Never again will I be giving this coffee shop another hard earned dollar of mine. And to that manager, change your attitude before someone who isn’t afraid to disturb the peace handles you.
In response to the “owner.” Check your cameras! Your staff all looked at him when I asked for a manager. Either way, your “barista” has a nasty attitude with customers and with staff. It is not the customer’s fault that your cafe can’t handle volume and at no point was that wait time communicated. Either way 20-25 minutes (while embarrassingly long for breakfast sandwiches) is what we are used to and don’t have an issue. Noone threathened the guy and even if he felt threathened he pulled a knife which would land him quicker in jail than me yelling to be heard by a place where I spend too much damn money to be treated like a peasant by some miserable employee in over his head. Had he listened and came over when I respectfully requested a manager instead of ignoring me, none of this would’ve happened. Noone threatened to call the police but him. Leave those girls out of it. Y’all have some issues to work out internally and need to do better at communicating with guests because you are in Mission Hill, not Milton MA, so if you catch an attitude with the locals, you will...
Read moreGreat food great coffee, lovely staff. I docked two stars because of the ridiculously long wait times and the fact it closes at 3 pm. Even if you order ahead online, it will not be ready 30 min after when you arrive. It seems that they don’t execute orders in order, but rather prioritize in person orders. With a small staff and the shop being popular, this means that online orders just won’t get made until you go there. The other day I ordered a coffee and a bagel with cream cheese and waited 20 minutes to get it. I understand that the service industry is difficult, and I don’t pin this on the fault of any of their workers. It is the fault of the owner who does not reorganize the ordering system, employ more workers, and extend the closing time of the shop. Closing at 3 pm is frankly hilarious for being the only non-chain coffee shop in the area. It’s clear that whoever is running this business is doing so for a hobby rather than an actual job.
All in all, I’d definitely recommend stopping in for a sandwich and coffee if you’re not in a rush and can get there by 3 pm. I’d also recommend that the owner think carefully about how they run their business to address the glaring issues holding me back from giving 5 stars. Hiring just one more line cook and extending the hours to 5/6 pm when actual working people can access the shop would make this my ideal...

I will simply say that this place served a top 5 Sandwhich I have ever had in my whole life (maybe top 3).
Please do yourself a huuuuge favor and order the Cranberry Chicken Salad Sandwhich. It is absolute perfection ( a perfectly moist and crispy at the same time, perfectly balanced masterpiece I had it twice — and even the second time where it was made and sat in the fridge — it was still incredible! The people who own it and run it seem to be (both from me interacting w them and from everything that was written on line) are beyond nice and caring. My only knock would be that it doesn’t seem like the kind of place that would serve one of the world’s greatest sandwiches (the pictures are a bit misleading lol). So in a nutshell I wish I ha discovered this place sooner! Ps: their coffee is great too (and pastries) BUT — get the...
