Worst breakfast ever...
Sad to report but it's better that others know so they can avoid this restaurant. Had to kill an hour at the airport early in the morning and someone recommended Legal Sea Foods for breakfast. Oops.
Ordered an omelette with bacon strips on the side, toast and coffee. The omelette was delivered to the table cold and had very little flavor (about a 2 on a scale of 1 to 10 for omelettes). Ordered the bacon and toast crispy - neither came that way. The bacon was under-cooked, floppy and soft (yuck) and the toast had zero crunch.
I decided to forget the toast but asked if they could please bring me some crispy bacon, Please note - I was extremely polite the entire time.
Half an hour later the waitress returned with the bacon - completely inedible and burnt. I'm not exaggerating - it was blackened and scorched as if it had been through a house fire. Even if the chef was having a rough morning (which he shouldn't have been given there were plenty of empty tables), no waitress (or manager) should have ever let that leave the kitchen.
To top it off, the wait and bus staff ignored my table consistently, leaving the dirty dishes piled up with the inedible food still on them for an hour while I worked on my laptop. Not once did they come over and offer to clear a clean space or refill my coffee. Just really poor service on top of ill-prepared food. Will never eat at this...
Read moreI had 2 hours to kill before my flight so decided to treat myself, but going here was hardly a treat. The entire staff was rude and rushing me the entire time. I didn't even get to sit down before the waitress started rushing me to order. Then when I was actually ready to order, she grabbed the menu out of my hands before I was done! Unbelievable behavior. While I waited for my food I had staff come and go to leave condiments or other people's food at my table, only for another staff member to swoop in and remove said condiments or unexpected food. At one point I had to shoo away a waiter because they tried taking my oyster plate away from me before I was done. The oysters were good which I'd expect, but I also got the burger which was TERRIBLE. The meat tasted rotten and despite being called the "double bacon ranch burger" it was a single burger with NO ranch and when I asked they said they didn't even have any ranch in the restaurant. The whole experience totally killed my vibe and was a waste of $50. Full of regret and rotten meat, I won't...
Read moreLegal has really gone downhill. I remember it didn't matter which restaurant you tried (Harbor side, Burlington, Kendall Square, the Test Kitchen at the Boston airport, Atlanta) you would always have a best experience.
Our last experience at Burlington was just so-so.
And our latest meal at the converted Legal at the airport may be our final visit. Prices have risen too much and the meal quality is way down.
We ordered 2 different salmon dinners. My wife ordered Hoisin and it was properly prepared and very good. I ordered the grilled salmon, medium rare, and I got medium. I didn't complain to my server, I dislike doing that unless my food is not edible. But c'mon, a high end seafood restaurant not knowing how to cook salmon? (It doesn't help that in the past week I had an overcooked salmon at a different Boston restaurant - did the definition of medium rare change recently???)
Two photos show my "medium rare" salmon, one shows the properly cooked Hoisin (which was actually more moist inside...
