Village has been my go to takeout spot since I moved to Southie in 2018. My dad is also a long-term regular after having worked in the area for more than 15 years. Tonight, I called in an order and was told it would be ready in 20 mins. When I showed up more than 20 min later I was told it would be another 10. When I followed up 10 min later, I was told it would be at least another 10. When I let them know that I had already waited an extra 10 min, the staff was rude, had no sense of urgency, and acknowledged that they had not even started the order. When I told them that I wanted to cancel it they simply said sure and didn’t apologize or try to make things right. Placed an order through Grubhub. After two hours, six phone calls, and $25 still no food. Called Grubhub for a refund and was told that only the restaurant could issue one.
Call the restaurant and the manager was very rude. Said his driver delivered to "the guy" who was "having a party." I'm not a guy. I wasn't having a party. The manager refused to acknowledge the error and refused to issue a refund.
When my husband called to follow up after he had been so rude, the manager told him that he has this kind of problem with "white trash" and that he thought this was some kind of scam to rip them off.

I got a call from the owner complaining and telling me that I don’t tip his drivers. Funny thing is that was my fourth time ordering there and the only time I didn’t gave any tips to the driver. This business owner is nasty with his mouth, had some nerves to call me over not tipping his driver and claimed that I can’t order from them no more.
