EDIT: After posting the below review, the manager reached out and apologized for the communication error. So, I am changing my review to reflect this. We will return as soon as possible and give them another opportunity. The response was greatly appreciated. Hope to try them again.
######## Wanted to support this new business but probably won't return. We accidentally filled out the wrong column next to the sushi rolls, and our server didn't read back our order to confirm. We received the wrong rolls, and let our server know. We were okay with keeping the one (it was close enough), so our server said he could exchange the other one. (We wanted salmon/mango, but received a snow crab/avocado).
When the bill came, our server said sorry, but the manager said it was our mistake and we had to pay for the extra roll. (We didn't eat the wrong roll, btw).
Not a great first experience.
Also, I would have just spoken to a manager if they came out to explain...but we never saw one. I looked for an email to contact directly, but there wasn't one on the website.
Food was good - maybe worth carryout. We didn't love the atmosphere. No music and a big television in the dining room during...
Read moreIts great to see a new sushi restaurant open in Boulder, a city that is harsh on restaurant operators. The outlet is quite large with sparse decorations, and unfortunately, on the Friday night we visited, customers were scarce. That worked to our benefit as the attentive service quickly sat us, provided water and then menus. Yotsuba has an extensive menu, with a wide selection of nigiri & sushi, ramen options and even limited Yakitori. We had a selection of sushi rolls in addition to salmon sashimi & ramen, and all were above the quality I have experienced in other Boulder Japanese establishments. I like seeing the fish when I eat sushi, and the small sushi counter allowed that. The fish I saw looked fresh and the young sushi "masters" obviously knew their trade. The sushi was served at the perfect temperature (not too cold nor warm), and the food came out promptly. The edamame was served hot, also a nice change from many outlets which serve it chilled. The establishment has yet to get its liquor license, but management stated that we could BYO it. There's no question I'll become a regular at Yotsuba. Let's hope...
Read moreWe heard there was a new sushi restaurant in the neighborhood and we're excited to try it out. The food was beautifully presented and the sushi was very good. The menu has a lot of variety with specialty rolls that are unique to this location as well as all the traditional favorites such as spider rolls, California rolls, etc.
The restaurant staff were friendly, and service was appropriately attentive and the food came out quickly. There were several other tables filled while we were there but the restaurant was not full. We were able to be seated right away. I could imagine the service might be a little bit slower if it was very busy.
The restaurant setting is modern, if not a little Stark but very comfortable. I could imagine it will be noisy in this space when it's full and busy.
For all, it was a great experience and we're very excited to have high quality sushi in the neighborhood. Would recommend you...
