Experienced night/day service/product within a 48 hr period of patronizing this establishment. The first experience 2 days ago was amazing. I ordered jerk chicken,, rice and peas with cabbage. The food was fresh, delicious, with adequate service. Casier gave great recommendations. Would recommend solely based off this experience and intended to write a review reflecting a great overall experience.
Today I visited with my friend who is a first generation Jamaican American. Based on my previous experience, i wanted to share the wealth. I waited for my order in the seating area close to the door. The cashier attempted to get my attention when the order was up by yelling across the store random courtesies, of which I assumed in an attempt to get the attention of the patron that was walking out. I was evidently just as wrong as she was as her calls were in non applicable languages. When I got to the counter I corrected her and she explained she was practicing her spanish.
On to the food... The jerk wings I ordered were cold. I brought them back and explained they were cold and she took the plate and came back in 2-3m and said be careful, it's hot. At this point the wings were still not fresh but luke warm while the rice and peas and cabbage were scorching. Dissappointed.
My guest ordered the Curry chicken. She said that it was tender but could use more flavor. I would be inclined to patronize the establishment again based on the first experience but at this point I don't know what to expect. ...
Read moreOrdered at 5:30p on a Sunday they didn’t have anymore Mac or 🥔 salad. I ordered too platters 1 with those sides & fried chicken the other curry goat peas & rice plantains. My fav was ofc the curry goat wi rig rice. It could of been spiced as it was my first time and I asked for 2 sauces 1 being ghost pepper that was forgotten to get added to my bag after waiting 40min for my food to be prepared for a pre-order that just went left from the once I arrived notice regarding the unavailable 2 sides. I also ordered a separate side of cabbage that ended up becoming a main side which was pretty good especially with the rice. Truly it you’re looking for decent decadent Caribbean food they’re worthwhile. Small business but worthwhile. I tried the bread pudding I wasn’t a fan, it needed to be more moist and simply u can add cream to it to improve it at home. But overall check your bag throughly for your items, and don’t spend too much at once your first time, go with a usual entree for yourself and start reasonable.
My brother recommended this spot who is more particular than myself and ended up appearing 2 days before myself, ended up receiving Mac & potato salad and wasnt satisfied with his full results and spent more than myself but he’s truly more particularly than myself and only eats my own and himself cooking which...
Read moreI had a taste for Jamaican food and randomly found this restaurant in a Google search. Based on the reviews I took a chance and it paid off big time! The restaurant was immaculate! I would have no problem dining in if I were not going home. The staff was pleasant and answered my questions. I did not order in advance, so I had a short wait. But they had grown & sexy music playing so I was engaged and the time went by quickly. When I got home and opened my container, I was shocked to see the amount of food they give you. It was enough for 2 servings (would have liked a little more cabbage)! The food was DELICIOUS! The coco bread tasted like someone had just finished baking it! The beef patties were good. I had brown stewed chicken and my husband had oxtails. Both were outstanding. We also had carrot cake and bread pudding. My husband loved the carrot cake. Unfortunately, I did not try either. We have grown up our whole life eating Jamaican food and are very picky but this place is a winner! I immediately told my girlfriend about it. And we...
