The first time I ordered from this place the food was not great It was delivered cold and they forgot my soda. So i called instead of refunding me for my soda they offered me a credit. They told me that their credit card system does not do refunds?!?!
The next time I ordered I figured I'd use my credit and they allowed me to use the credit on the account and I ordered my meal. Before I hung up the lady that took my order asked if I plan to pay cash or credit. I opt to pay cash since the benefits of having a credit refund is not a option at the restaurant anyway. I advised her that I'd would pay cash and to have the driver bring change. So when the driver arrives, I had her two 20 dollar bills and since the total was less I should have been given change, instead the driver tells me that she can only give me $6.00 back because she does not have change. I let her have the difference as a tip. I was quite disappointed that a delivery driver would not carry enough change to break a 20 dollar bill. I believe either the young lady wasn't so bright or she just wanted to get a bigger tip. I called the restaurant to advise them of what happened and they couldn't have cared less. Instead she told me that I should have told them the exact amount of change that I would need?!?!... I am very disappointed in the lack of customer service this place has. Hopefully the owners care enough to resolve my complaints...but I highly doubt it. But the employee should at least be advised of what they should have done instead of leaving a customer feeling like they just have been hoodwinked.
I will try another restaurant for my lazy Friday night meals...hopefully their is another local Asian food restaurant that actuslly cares about...
Read moreThis restaurant is designed & decorated nicely. It is cozy and intimate and even has barstool seating at the counter, although alcohol is not served here. I had a taste for eggplants, which seems to be a rarity among most small Asian restaurants. I called a few eateries around town to pleasantly discover that Golden Pavilion serves my delicacy. I had the eggplant mixed in with chicken & broccoli with garlic sauce which is my specialty dish; I didn't mind paying extra for a total of nearly $14. What a disappointment! My first noticeable gripe is that the large container of my eggplant entree was not filled all the way to the top! I've been to numerous such restaurants, and this has never been the case. The container is always filled up to the top and sometimes even over the brim. Oh but trust me, the small rice container was stuffed to the top. Secondly, the eggplants did not taste or look fresh with its vibrant purple color. This was a takeout order which was packaged in an impressive 5 minutes flat, and the customer service appeared to be good, but the experience left a bad taste in my mouth. I just wish that I had opened the container before I pulled off. Also, I neglected to take a photo to show that the food was one inch from the top, or 80% full. Drop the mike I'm done with this place. Don't be cheap with the amount of food, and don't cheat your customers! This is inexcusable!...
Read moreI have fond memories of Golden Pavilion, where it once stood as a beacon of good Chinese food and a welcoming family environment in Bowie, MD. This used to be our go-to spot for delicious meals and quality time with family. However, recent visits have left me deeply disappointed and concerned.
Regardless of the time of day, the bar area is now consistently crowded with people who are visibly intoxicated. The atmosphere has shifted dramatically from one of calm and comfort to one of chaos and disruption. Patrons are not just talking loudly but are yelling over each other, creating an unbearably noisy environment.
The use of foul language has become commonplace, and it’s alarming to witness individuals falling over drunk. This is not the kind of environment conducive to family dining or a pleasant meal out. It’s uncomfortable and unwelcoming for anyone looking for a peaceful dining experience.
I strongly urge the owners and management to take immediate action. By allowing this behavior to continue, they are tarnishing the restaurant’s reputation as a classy family establishment and turning it into a classless dump for party-goers and drunks. It’s disheartening to see a once-beloved restaurant decline in this manner. I hope changes are made soon to restore Golden Pavilion to its...
