The food is delicious. But carry-out operations on a busy night are absolutely terrible. If you’re told 40 minutes, plan on waiting over an hour or more for your food. To make things worse, the counter staff has clearly been told to keep responding “just a few more minutes”.
Having this happen to me multiple times previously, I specifically called yesterday at 10:42am to say I needed 2 pizzas for a dinner last night at 6:00pm, and asked what time I should order to have my food ready at 5:45pm. I was told to order right then, 7 1/2 hours early, and they’d certainly be ready on time. So I did. Arrived at 5:45pm, was asked immediately to pay my bill. The nice fellow then went into the kitchen and came back to say it would be just a few more minutes. Then he kept telling me the same over and over. At 6:05pm I asked for a manager who, after waiting several minutes to show, then had the nerve to tell me that my pizzas had actually been ready on time, were placed out on the online order pickup shelf, but were then stolen. This was clearly a ridiculous lie to my face by this woman. Knowing well how this store runs, nothing is put on those grab-and-go shelves except pre-paid, online orders - mine was a phone in order and I had not paid until I arrived. Also, had I ordered online, and if my pizzas had been put on the pickup shelf, the staff wouldn’t have any idea about them being stolen until I had started asking where my pickup order was. She then went in back and came out to say “they’ll be out in just two minutes”. TEN minutes later my pizzas were handed to me, right after telling the very nice counter person I wanted my money back. So my 5:45pm pickup wasn’t handed to me until 6:30pm. And dinner for my 15 invited guests was 45 minutes late. It’s very clear that my 10:42am order did nothing for me and hadn’t even gone in the oven by the time I arrived to pick them up at my prescheduled time. Terrible carry-out operations and absolutely insulting and disgraceful customer service by this manager. Two other people approached me after hearing my conversation with this mngr to tell me how late their orders were extremely late as well. And despite the obviously backed up kitchen, the counter people taking phone orders kept telling people 40 minutes when that clearly was not going to be the case. Here’s something for starters- just be honest about the wait time. If it’s running an hour, then just say that. And managers should at least have the ethics to own the situation instead of being dishonest with their customers. My order being late is one thing. The restaurant manager lying to my face is much worse.
The food at this Ledo franchise is definitely delicious. But I’ve now had too many issues with carry-out orders. Ledos Bowie - you’re making it very difficult for me to give you my business! This place needs some serious kitchen operations management and customer service...
Read moreLast night, my husband and I, ate dinner inside the restaurant. We ordered a Ledo’s salad and a medium, deluxe pizza. The restaurant side was not busy. The salad arrived quickly. Over 30 minutes later, after checking about the status of the pizza twice, the pizza arrived swimming in grease. The thin crust was soft and nearly had dissolved in the grease. We used the plastic little spoons they now serve meals with, to scoop out some of the viable pizza around the four corners, but it was disgusting to say the least. I notified management about it, particularly since the pizza alone costs $25. They listened but were cold and detached like they did a favor listening to me. They told me this happened because of the heavy toppings of the deluxe pizza, and abruptly offered another pizza. They did not listen when I responded that my point was NOT to get a free pizza or anything free but to provide constructive feedback. They offered a free pizza again, and I, again repeated that I appreciated the offer but did NOT want a free item. At this point, they said that it is what it is and nothing can be done to improve the quality of that particular item. As I understood it, they follow a canned method of preparing food and that’s it. I expected to hear that they will look into improving the quality of that particular pizza. Nothing. Once they realized I did not want anything, they quickly dismissed me. I felt bad and nearly humiliated for raising the issue. I found myself apologizing for bringing my concern to their attention. My husband and I, left the restaurant and will not go back.
It is disheartening to see our local Ledo’s so closed-minded with respect to improving quality based on customer feedback. It used to be satisfying to eat there, and it saddens me to see this new “atmosphere”. It is my local Ledo’s and would like to support it, but they are not receptive there. They seem to care more about the bar side rather than the restaurant side. It pains me to post negative feedback but I hope Ledo’s management will consider this feedback and use it to improve operations. There are efficient ways to ensure the pizza crust remains crispy, and hope Ledo’s will do research and act accordingly.
Very respectfully, I recognize that in this day and age, restaurant business is challenging and difficult. I wish this restaurant to consider balancing the bar side with the restaurant side and improve the quality...
Read moreWe are from out of town and my husband had seen the menu and really wanted to try the pizza. I'm not big on pizza but did find items on the menu that interested me.
We entered and sat ourselves. It took a few minutes for the waitress to acknowledge us. Her name was Marisa. We were ready to order. My husband ordered the cheese bread and a pizza. I ordered the chicken artichoke bruschetta and a bowl of Italian wedding soup.
Hubby got his bread. Then my soup came out a few minutes later. While not cold, it wasn't hot either. I eat few carbs so waited for my bruschetta. I ended up eating all my soup. Hubby ate 2 slices of his bread and his pizza came out. After about 15 minutes I was able to get the waitresses attention and ask about the bruschetta. She seemed surprised and said she would check on it. She came back and apologized, saying it had actually been put into a to go box for someone else. She'd get it remade right away
After another 15 minutes I was looking for her to try flagging her down when she brought it out... I told her I was just looking for her to cancel the order. I asked for 2 boxes (for the pizza and my bruschetta). She stated the bruschetta was fresh out of the oven when she set the plate down. It was not. While it was warm, it certainly was not right out of the oven.
Thankfully it was very delicious. But the circumstances were very disappointing. And we were not offered any discount or apology from...
