Donna's — Restaurant in Bowling Green

Was driving down main street in BG saw this bar and decided to check it out. It was early evening and there were only about 5 people inside when we arrived so we sat at the bar and were greeted by the sweetest bartender named Ebonne. She was very engaging and patiently explained the custom drinks they offered as well as the "vibe" of the club. The two drinks she suggested and made were great! They offer two pool tables (no charge), a bar with about 10-12 stools, about 5 tables/booths and a rather large dance area. About 9:00, the crowd started to come in and then the DJ arrived...there was a pretty good mix of people (but mostly young adults) and the music was a good blend of all genres. There is no smoking allowed inside and there was adequate street parking. Donna's has really good deals on drinks. This was a really "chill" spot, where the locals can go for a good drink (or 2) and to bust a few moves on the dance floor! Friendly staff and one of the owners (Duncan) was very personable as well...

I lost my contacts while break dancing last weekend. The bartenders cleared the dance floor and organized a search party to help find them. Once the contacts were located the DJ resumed the music and we danced the night away.

There's multiple options for using the restroom. I personally enjoy the communal option. It allows me to make friendly banter with my neighbor while I relieve myself. They stock the fancy myers soap, I love that stuff. I usually do a two pump for a really good lather. The owner told me he didn't mind and the soap was there for my convience.

Im grateful for donnas because it’s the closest we’ll likely get to a gay bar anywhere near bowling green. Their alt style makes them stand out from other bars on the square, but there’s a couple areas where I think Donna’s could improve. I like the bartenders, but I feel that they’re never staffed enough during bigger events like the drag shows. I routinely have to wait roughly 15-20 minutes for a drink. A couple of other nitpicky things here and there too, but I think 4 stars is...
