After eating here on a somewhat regular basis for over a decade, there is only one issue I have. There are a couple of waitresses here that are fantastic, and the rest are all at least good if not very good. Except one. This particular waitress is one of if not the worst wait-staff I've ever had at any restaurant. She started a couple of years ago now, but doing the basic job requirements of a waitress seems like the hardest thing in the world for her. Checking on her tables? A rare occurrence. Bringing refills? I'm not sure I've ever seen it. Even seeing her consistently on the floor taking care of her other tables may happen 25-50% of the time. You're more than likely to see her trying to chat with another employee who is trying to work. And that's if you see her on the floor at all. And that's if its busy or at least a steady stream of patrons. If its slow, its even worse. I've talked with others who frequent on a regular basis and its a general consensus to try and avoid her section if at all possible. One day several months back was the worst it's ever been. After taking our orders and bringing our drinks, we did not see her at our table for about an hour (because we finally got her attention). Another waitress had to bring us our food, and we had to stop other staff more than once for something, whether for a refill or otherwise. We saw her on the floor maybe 2 or 3 times during the time, but even the other waitresses had no idea where she was when she wasn't on the floor. We had finished eating for close to 30 min before finally flagging her down to bring the check, which still took another 15 min. She never apologized or even bothered trying to explain where she had been, so it must not have been all that important. In my opinion, if she can't even do the bare basics of the job, then she needs to find another avenue of employment. I wouldn't keep going back if the food wasn't good or most/all of the staff was the same. But anytime we get unlucky enough to be in her section, we know we're in for an unfortunately...
Read moreSICKNESS-Beyond disappointed. Picked husband up from night shift work and went to breakfast/dinner. We ordered wings. Husband comes often w a large group from work so he wanted us to try it bc they deemed it the place to go! Highly disappointed! Midway through his wings he stops eating and says he will take rest home as it wasn't the normal quality. We had heard someone in kitchen complaining entire time we were there about 2 fryers being down, one broke the other down. Chalked it up as a bad morning for staff and left w our food. Server was sweet,, very attentive. Came home and went back to bed but woke up 5 hours later profusely sick. Called and spoke w Doug, explained the concern and while explaining Doug instantly became rude, talked over me and said there's no guarantee it's his food bc wings are new and only 1 fryer is down. When trying to explain I was simply calling to let him know to check his Temps, etc he hung up on me. When I called back and explained I would just let health dept handle it since husband has the food and going to dr and having it tested and that I was calling as a courtesy to let him know, Doug's tune changed to appreciative of letting him know and then telling me that I was rude bc I simply was informing him something was wrong. Don't waste your money for salmonella or turned wing sauce and rude mgr w poor resolution skills and listening skills. To anyone who ate wings or the BBQ wings, wishing you no illness today! To Doug, you should truly learn to speak to anyone calling w a concern. Listening is key and being judgmental loses you customers bc word of mouth is the best...
Read moreCame here around noon and it was very slow. Not a lot of people inside so service was extremely fast.
Decided today we would have the Jalapeño Poppers which were good but not very spicy. They took the seeds out of the peppers to tone them down a bit. It came with cheese on the inside along with the poppers so it was still very good.
My wife ordered the Pulled Pork Plate. For the price you pay ($11.00) you get what you pay for. She said it was good except she wishes there was more! Along with that she had the hush puppies as a side which took us by surprise when we noticed it had corn on the inside. We absolutely loved this as all hush puppies in Texas are made this way. We prefer these ones over the hush puppies at say Cookout.
I myself ordered the Double Bacon Cheese Burger. In my honest opinion, it was a very good burger. I did not expect it to be as big as it was. Sadly, I had to take a take a to go container because of the size. My only regret is wishing I could have ate the entire thing.
While we were here extra staff was cleaning to ensure cleanliness by sweeping and wiping down tables. You can tell they at least like their jobs as the waitresses and kitchen staff could be heard laughing and having a good time.
Overall this spot is fantastic and wish it was open longer than 5AM - 2PM daily. I could see this being a fantastic dinner spot especially during football season. We will be coming back in the future to try more...
