Los Volcanes Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Bowling Green

On my first visit I got the Volcano Combo, which included three tacos with a choice of chicken, steak or pork (I got one of each), guacamole, pico de gallo, and chips. The tacos were all delicious, the guac and pico were also good, and so were the chips and salsa that came with our meals. My friend got the Burrito Barzon, which she got with chicken filling and topped with queso, pineapple, shrimp and chorizo. I couldn't believe my eyes because it was the biggest burrito I've ever seen! I tried some of it, and it was so good, that's what I plan to get next time. Service was fast, friendly and attentive. Waitress was welcoming and attentive. Music was 80s rock at first, then Mexican pop. Tacos are quite small - more a tasting plate than a proper meal - but extremely tasty. Chimichanga, likewise, was textbook. My dish, the name of which I cannot recall, included unpeeled shrimp smothered in a savory red sauce, beans and rice, French fries, and a small assortment of veg. Delicious, if somewhat hard to eat without the sauce getting everywhere (unless I was supposed to eat it without removing the heads first?). Atmosphere is warm, an excellent little hole in the wall. Not the best Mexican in the area, but not bad by half....

Really great Mexican food that's not your typical cheap Mexican menu with combo platters and drowned enchiladas. Here you will find authentic meats fresh veggies and inexpensive combos. This is a local joint for dining in or take out. The street tacos and sopas are my favorite. Steak chorizo, al pastor, along with delicious buche and, cachete are all recommended options.
