Thought we would make a detour on our trip whilst traveling I-65 because some of us had a hankering for ice cream. We were utterly surprised what we found in Meltdown. So many different choices of flavors, all made on site and with local, unadulterated ingredients. Milk and cream from a farm just up the road and all fruit from the farmers market. So be aware, during the winter months you won’t get as many fruity flavors. Still no shortage of great concoctions with new ones on the horizon. She was so accommodating with all of our questions and we could tell she has a passion for what she does. Sweet potato ice cream? Really? Delectable!!! Returning for sure!

I wish there was a 4.75 stars option. The only thing holding this pace back is 1 extra person working the counter. However, just because that is 1 person is needed dosent mean there is a compromise on quality. Thier prices do reflect the quality! This a great place for special summer dates, a snack or a treat after an event, If you want a taste of the history of Bowling Green this is the place! The banana split was very carefully prepared on the spot. It tasted fantastic! It was indeed a 12$ banana split! Worth every penny!

4.5 stars Meltdown Ice Cream looks fantastic inside. Very bright and clean. Staff was super super nice and took time to explain the flavors and how they buy local to make their ice cream. Flavors on hand vary wildly with combinations I would have never thought to put together, adding a couple plain flavors would be nice. Ice cream is very rich, so a small size goes a long way. They can make shakes and floats and have other desserts on hand. Pretty cool spot to pop in while downtown and support this local small business.

Meltdown is such a sweet and fun little place. We visited here for the first time with family from out of town. We were looking for someplace different where none of us had ever been. Google maps showed us this place and we all agreed it looked interesting. The people behind the counter were very inviting. They offered to give us samples of any flavor we wanted (of which i tried 2). Since i couldn't pick just one, I got a single scoop split between both Cookies and Cream and Chocolate Covered Banana ice creams (which they gladly offered to do). My partner got a sugar cone with a single scoop (which was actually 2 scoops high) of the Spiced Cider Sorbet. Our guests shared a double scoop of Fro Ho Co (frozen hot chocolate) in a bowl covered in chocolate sauce and peppermint bark. In addition to the ice cream, we got a Dark Cherry hand crafted soda. The ice cream and soda were amazing! We ate in the park across the street and talked the entire time about how much we enjoyed the entire experience. And the cherry on top (pun intended😁) the spoon changed color with the cold. It gave...
