Tl;Dr Fingernail in my coffee
I was in town last week and I decided to grab a coffee here; there was just something kind of exotic about Tim Horton's since this was my second time ever going to one and the first time was just days prior to this excursion.
So I'm hanging out in line shooting the breeze with some guys. Service was slow, but its not my usual gas station Dunkin Donuts so to me anything else is a snail's pace. We're talking a hard 3/soft 4 out of 5 right now for this visit.
I sit down, my boy is devouring this bacon egg and cheese on whatever this sad excuse for a bagel is, and I'm sipping on an Iced Capp which is basically just a frozen coffee with some crushed Oreos--10/10 rip from the BK playbook, next time toss some Lucky Charms in there, it'll really do the trick.
Whatever, it wasn't half bad, now I have this habit of chewing on the ice chips, kinda odd, but trust me this is where the story gets good. I feel something that's not ice. I dig into my mouth with visible confusion not only from myself, but my friends, and I pull out a fingernail.
A freaking fingernail.
Based on the width, girth, and jaggedness, someone grew out their thumbnail and ripped it off. It's like the caffeine gods scorned me for cheating on my beloved Dunks and told some employee "screw this guy! I'm gonna rip my fingernail off and toss that in here!"
Obviously that quote is hearsay, but I was disgusted. But I played it cool, I remained calm, went back in line, but I was so shocked that the situation even occurred that all I could muster was a polite request for a cup of tap water. I wasn't petty, I didn't end my request with "so I can cut the bleach I need to wash this memory from my mouth," I just got an annoyed look, a cup of tap, and after my buddy finished his sandwich we started the 12 hour ride home.
Thanks Ohio, land of the $1 domestic beers but fingernail infused coffee,...
Read moreHave had several bad experiences with this location in the last year. Last time, I finally asked for a refund and was told they couldn't do it and I had to go to the corporate website. No one ever contacted me. Food badly prepared and smashed into the bag like they were stuffing a sausage. Employees rude and bad at their jobs in general. Coffees weren't labelled so we had no idea who's was who's.
Just all around the worst experiences possible and I'm not going to let them treat me or my family like we're beneath them and we're being a bother when we just had reasonable expectations for Tim Hortons: mid quality food and coffee prepared with even halfhearted attempts at something that isn't a thrown together mess. But they can't do that and they wouldn't talk to me let alone refund me.
You're better off going to McDonald's who just this morning gave me a free hash brown for my long wait --and I hadn't even complained or said anything, they just did it! Customer service, what a CONCEPT! Matter of fact let me rephrase the beginning of this paragraph: you're better off staying home, burning $20, and licking a 9v battery. At least you'll feel like you're a human being once it's over and not like a slug being forced to crawl across a razor...
Read moreThis is the WORST Tim Horton's I've ever been to and the WORST drive thru in Bowling Green. AVOID THIS PLACE. A coffee, a donut, a breakfast sandwich - all of it can found elsewhere in town and none of it is worth the degrading treatment you get at this restaurant.
The employees are rude, slow, and will treat you even worse if you complain or ask for basic customer service. They will make you feel stupid if you ask for an item that is out of stock, like you should have known. The management can't/won't do anything about it.
DO NOT order through the app or website. Your order will get bumped to the end of the list and they will serve everyone in the drive thru with you standing there for 30 minutes before even starting to prep your order. If you order online or in the app, the local store apparently cannot issue any refunds, credits, or other compensation when they inevitably screw up your order. You have to submit a complaint on the website, which will never be answered or addressed.
Just do yourself a favor and go literally anywhere else. Tim Hortons is usually a go-to for us in any other city or state, but this...
