Beani's Coffee Lounge — Restaurant in Boyne City

We stopped by in the afternoon on Friday after a long overnight drive from Kansas, arriving in the area around 6 a.m. and absolutely exhausted. This place was a godsend.

I wish I had gotten the name of the kind woman who helped us—she was amazing! She recommended the pistachio latte, which did not disappoint, and made an iced dirty chai latte for my husband that he absolutely loved. It's rare for him to find a dirty chai he enjoys, so the fact that he raved about it says a lot.

What impressed me most, though, was how patient and accommodating she was with our food order. We showed up after most of the breakfast items were gone, but she still worked with us and suggested bagel breakfast sandwiches. When it turned out they were out of ingredients, she quickly brought us a menu and offered alternative recommendations. I ended up getting the tomato pesto mozzarella sandwich with added bacon (her idea!), and it was incredible. I can't remember exactly what my friend ordered, but he was equally happy with his meal.

My kids also loved the play set in the lounge area—it gave them a chance to stretch and play while we relaxed a bit.

This place truly was a lifesaver. The food, drinks, service, and atmosphere were all fantastic....

This amazing place helped make our vacation special. After getting coffee from another place the first day, we discovered this cute little shop and preceded to come here 6 days in a row and twice on Thursday(we came back for lunch). First of all the drink quality and selection was great. We tried a lot of different drinks(good black coffee, flavored lattes, frappes, and lotus energy drinks) and they were all delicious. One of our girls loved hers so much she got it every day. Secondly, the food was awesome and I wish we would have eaten there more. We had scones for breakfast, but the lunch was on another level, especially the chicken garlic parmesan sandwich. Thirdly, the space is cool with different seating areas, each unique. They also have a coffee shop play set to entertain kids. The staff and owners were friendly and welcoming. Lastly, they have a giving wall where people can donate to buy someone food or a drink, which tells you the character of the owners. They care about their community. Cons: I've been here twice and both times I've ordered an (iced) latte, the espresso taste burnt. I like to give a business 3 tries before I don't come back (just in case it's me ordering "the wrong thing" for myself) I also ordered the loaded grilled cheese which the bacon was good. However, the bread was so hard (like stale and then grilled) and the cheese I can only describe as 1/2 ply because there was almost none on there. I would barely call it a grilled cheese let alone a loaded one.

Pros: The whole set up inside is so cute and they have a nice little play area for small kids! The employees were helpful and friendly! Before I left I bought one of their already packaged Samoa Cookie cold brews (made in house) and it was delicious!! They also had a variety of snacks and offer Jojo's cookies...
