Upon arriving at Driftwood, you’ll find a quaint, innocuous building off US1, but don’t let that fool you. There’s magic between those four walls. On your way back from the parking lot, you may see one of the many talented chefs tending or harvesting from the garden out back. Driftwood honors and pays tribute to the bounty of the region as they utilize local products whenever possible. Step onto the patio and be whisked away to an oasis that just happens to be nestled between the sidewalk and the front door. Inside, you’ll be greeted to warm wood tones, gentle lighting, and simple, yet elegant, decor. This place may have been some family diner before, but is exceptionally well thought out from start to finish. Dive into the drinks menu straight away, you won’t be disappointed. The cocktails are thoughtfully crafted, well prepared, delicious and beautiful. Don’t miss their impressive whiskey and rum collection, either! Joey and Randu offer lively and engaging service and can help curate a lovely evening for you at the bar. If the dining room is more your speed, you’ll be treated to attentive service and hospitality from one of their talented servers. One of the owners, Ilia, can sometimes be found in the dining room on busy nights, warmly greeting guests and ensuring a smooth night. She was an absolute gem at every turn and interaction. The food? There’s no desire that can’t be satisfied on the menu. I was told that Chef owner, Jimmy, has worked all over the world for some of the best restaurants and Chefs, and it shows. He and Chef Tommy have created some beautiful, exceptionally delicious dishes. The specials menu changes with a flurry, whenever they seemingly get excited about new products or flavor combinations, you won’t have a choice but to keep coming back to experience the entire menu. The house made pastas? Incredible. The burger? Incredible. The local fish? Incredible. Having trouble deciding? Close your eyes and put your finger anywhere on the menu, you’ll be glad with anything and everything that comes out of that kitchen. You’ll find live music by a great artist, Joey George, on Wednesday and Sunday evenings. He always puts on a good show and adds to the atmosphere. Apart from the food, drinks, and service, I was told during one of my many visits that the owners go beyond the pale, fostering creativity, growth, and a positive work environment. It definitely shows. Critiques? Hard to think of anything that could dampen the experience. Run, don’t walk, to Driftwood, you’ll be glad that you did (just not on Monday or Tuesday), the staff gets to rest those days....
Read moreOk so the family and I came here on a Saturday night which is usually against my rule of going out since you know weekends are a mad house.
We saw this place after the wife wanted to find somewhere in boynton beach. We found out the map was wrong on here as it showed 3 miles north but I called the place and found it.
We parked in the Sherman Williams parking lot due to the restaurant's parking lot being full. We walked in and did not have a reservation. Fun fact, have a reservation on a Saturday night. Luckily, they had a table open outside on the patio.
We sat down and met our waiter Fransisco. He was very outgoing and excited to tell us about the menu as it's sustainable and local farms contribute to it.
We ended up ordering the chicken wings which had a crème fresh sauce with coche cheese. We ordered beef tartar as I never tried that before. We also ordered Chicken oysters. The wings were delicious ! The sauce was very delicious as well. The beef tartar was excellent as well as it sat on top a bloomin onion thing. The star was the chicken oysters and I use star loosely as everything was excellent. The chicken oysters had like a sweet kick to it and reminded me of a chicken and waffles with delicious pasta underneath. It was dynamite.
We then ordered braised beef and golden tile fish. The beef was delicious with a red sauce which wasn't strong at all. The tilefish was light and came out in a bag with a popcorn sauce. Everything was delicious.
We then got dessert if we weren't already busting out buttons off our pants. First Fransisco then said they have the best expresso martini in palm beach which made my wife order it. My wife loved it. We then had the cornbread with mascarpone ice cream, blue berry and bee pollen. Holy snikeys I thought I saw heaven! We ate the hell out of that plate. It didn't last more than 45 seconds. That warm cornbread was to die for with the ice cream. It all went together well. Then came a homemade ice cream sandwich which was also amazing.
We then, being fattys and who we are, ordered another corn bread ice cream. We devoured that one too. We were soooo full but damn it was so worth it. We...

Finally! We don't need to drive to the island or further for a delicious, creative and flavorful meal. We've been going to a similar concept called oceano down the road and the owners actually recommended driftwood to us so we thought we had to try. We immediately regretted never stopping every time we saw their "life is too short for bad food" sign, and boy, were they not lying!
Now for the main event : the FOOD sweet-and-sour cauliflower, fried to perfection the spicy is the right amount and balanced perfectly with the sweet green bean tempura, yummy snack the table will fight for house made milk bread - fluffy and light harissa butter is the best part local fish ceviche - fresh and definitely not shareable (in my humble but savage opinion) Birria empanadas - star of the show, we could eat 10 of these easily local fish and chips - second star of the show, I haven't had a good fish and chip since the UK beetroot salad, appreciate the idea the husband liked it because it had sweet potatoes but I felt like I was being forced to eat this by my mom- also very hard to top the empanadas and fish and chips burger, and general tso fried chicken sandwich we're good, but the other things on the menu were more creative and flavorful. someone got the chicken dumplings which left more to be desired - it was the only plate not licked do not sleep on the desserts - corn bread cake with homemade blueberry compote and their ice cream was to die for. I forgot the other dessert we got but it was demolished.
All in all, a wonderful experience - all three of my visits were somewhat last minute (driving by and my stomach takes the wheel) and we were one time accommodated close to closing time and being a large group and annoying - we appreciate the staff and more importantly the delicious food they served -...
