I have been coming here for breakfast for over 15 years and well it's usually a great meal, today it was anything but great. We usually never order omelets but today we made the mistake of ordering a spinach, sausage, and swiss cheese omelette. It was served with the spinach, sausage, and swiss cheese just being spooned into the middle with the eggs folded over and put on a plate so when you opened it up it was just a mess of chopped spinach and sausage and melted cheese. Very unappetizing. This is what I referred to as a Jacksonville omelette because it seems that omelettes are made this way in Jacksonville. I like omelettes where the spinach is stirred in with the eggs and only the cheese is put into the middle of The Omelette towards the end. I told the hostess about this (the waitress was no where to be found) and it was sent back to the kitchen. Instead of making me a new omelette, the chef just took my omelette put it into a frying pan, and scrambled the whole thing up and then re served it back to me. It was a re-scrambled omelette being served to me as a new omelette and it was horrible. I was so disappointed. I told the waitress and her comment to me was "what do you want me to do about it?" She needs to learn about customer service because she knows nothing. If someone is ordering a $10 omelette, and is unhappy, the cook should spend the $0.50 on three more eggs and make a new omelette. To do what was done today is an insult. And for the waitress to react like that is just bad business. She has no business serving people if she doesn't know how to be polite and take care of an issue. Most likely we will come back again, but never for an omelet. And we will never sit with...
Read moreBeen a patron of Boynton diners for at least the last 25 years, I've recommended this place hundreds of times and have had many friends go there to enjoy breakfast in the past.My wife and I are both in the restaurant business as is my son and daughter who came in for breakfast today along with my stepson.Unfortunately do to the sheer Unbelievable request that my daughter madeTo leave her scrambled eggs off of her Steak and egg breakfast tacos because she hates eggs ,that the cook refused to accommodate we will not be returning. It would have been different if they were mixed in ,that I would understand, but they were not. The last thing on the tacos were the scrambled eggs dumped on top instead of just leaving them off. So once I seen how ridiculously lazy and unprofessional the cook is and I literally had my daughter give me her tacos and had to remove the eggs myself at the table we will no longer recommend Boynton Diner or be back. Spending almost $110.00 for breakfast and a hardheaded cook refusing to leave off the scrambled eggs topping is worth the lost business for you folks I don't know. The placed looked very empty for a Sunday morning 9:30 am during Season when it use to be packed. The rest of the food was great as usual, the pettiness of the cook is...
Read moreMy 2 daughters & I stopped off for lunch. To be honest, we saw that it was closing at 2:00pm & it was 1:15pm. We went inside & asked if it was too late to order. We were told it was fine so I ordered a Rachel sandwich on rye, one daughter ordered a Patty melt on rye & my other daughter ordered a Cobb salad w/chicken. The order came quickly but our sandwich bread was dark brown-1 blink below burnt but was told it was swirl bread, hence the color. A Rachel comes with Pastrami, Swiss cheese & sauerkraut. There was plenty of pastrami but the cheese & kraut was below neglible. The patty melt was loaded with odorous red onion & the cheese was mostly invisible. The Cobb salad was fine. I couldn’t BITE through the pastrami & while I was trying to pull it out of my mouth, the waitress was vacuuming by our table. We asked for the check & boxes to take home the leftovers. Why I have no idea because I just tried to bite through again & just tossed the 3/4 into the garbage. Perhaps our horrible experience was because we came in before closing, but we certainly are NEVER going back again to check. We walked to the car...
