Sushi Simon — Restaurant in Boynton Beach

After reading so many great reviews about this restaurant on yelp I decided to give this place a try. What a mistake. They have a so called daily menu with no price on it right there I should of realized something is wrong. The waitress recommended 2 rolls from their so called special menu (which isn't since they have it every day). So we ordered the 2 rolls and 2 spicy tuna hand roll. I asked for mine to be spicier and she said ok we put jalapeno for you. Ordered 2 green teas and waited for our food to arrive. The rolls were very small and bland. They put a few thin strip of jalapeno on the spicy tuna hand roll and still very blah. While eating we see the sushi chef walk outside speaking on his cell phone. He walks back in does not wash his hands and goes back to making sushi. Call me OCD but when someone is making sushi with bare hands their hands should be extremely clean. We were going to order more food but considering the bland tasting food and the sushi chef dirty hands we decided to ask for the check and leave. And there was the chocker 68 dollars and change for 2 green tea 3 dollars a cup, 2 spicy tuna hand roll 5 dollars each, and 2 very small roll around 25 dollars each OUCH. They had the audacity of charging me 50 cents extra for putting 2 slices of Jalapenos in the spicy tuna (which she never advised me will cost extra). Needless to say this place is beyond horrible and should be ashamed of overcharging customers for everything and serving below average food. Do yourself a favor...

The BEST SUSHI RESTURANT in south Florida, HANDS DOWN! The ABSOLUTE BEST SERVICE around!!!!! Lucy and SIMON are the owners. They are Extremely hands on owners. They work seven days a week (for at least the past 10 years if not longer) Their love and dedication pours into their business and it shows. From The 8-10 hours it takes SIMON to make his eel sauce from scratch. (All of his sauces are made from scratch) to Lucy’s Amazing homemade ginger dressing. EVERYTHING is made from scratch And is simply to die for!!!! Lucy goes to the local markets every single morning for local produce, and all the local Fisherman go to sushi Simon to sell them their Daily catches. You seriously will not regret going. If u have a bad experience it’s my treat lol. I worked here for about 2-3 years (10 years ago) and now my sister works there 😃 (Jami -blonde and pink hair lol) I highly suggest getting a salad with ginger dressing, rainbow sashimi tartar as an appetizer, and two of my favorite rolls (if your looking for cooked I suggest a SUPER CRUNCH and a If u want raw the NO NAME ROLL is without a doubt the best roll u will ever have. The NO NAME ROLL IS salmon, tuna, white tuna, and massago inside inside out with spicy tuna, and avocado on top with SIMONS FIVE SIGNATURE SAUCES. We have ordered the same rolls from Sushi Simon a couple of times. This time, upon arrival, they were nice enough to have our table all set up with the food ready waiting for us, which was nice. One of the rolls was good as always, app good but this time, the 24/7 roll had masago fish eggs all over it, which it has never had in the past and is also not that way according to the menu, so this roll should not have fish eggs on it unless specifically requested. When we brought it to the waitresses as well as the managers' attention, they insisted that fish eggs were always on this roll. We told them that they have not been on there in the past and should not be on there since it is not specified on the menu that way. My husband hates fish eggs. He was trying to scrape them all off as they were loaded! They not only didn't offer to replace his roll with a correctly made one according to their menu that he would enjoy eating, but refused to and argued with us. We walked out paying for that roll when they should have re made it correctly for him. I gave only 2 **. One is for the table setup and one for the other roll, which was fine, but now, as regular take out customers, we will not be returning.
