I was amazed at what care and dedication is given for the care of the customer! As someone who has worked in the service industry and taking great pride in providing an exceptional experience for the customer, I was not disappointed. I have always felt that I should treat customers how I would like to be treated.
Lisa, the owner was very welcoming and professional. Speaking with to me about her personal and exceptional collection of nut-cracker dolls that she displays during the holidays in the lobby. The decorations didn't end there though. There was Christmas lights on every floor balcony and there was even a nut-cracker in the elevator. I also found in the lobby ice water infused with watermelon and ginger (if I recall correctly) that was so refreshing and heart warming when away from home.
Everything about my stay was a message that Lisa and her staff genuinely care about your experience and that you are comfortable, safe, and satisfied. I was only there one night, but had I stayed longer would have taken advantage of the gym, pool, and spa area. All the gym equipment is modern and the area provides a positive environment for work out on the road. This was such a welcoming site compared to many hotel work out rooms I have seen where there are a few machines and tv a monitor in a small neglected room. The updated pool area is clean and beautiful. The area was so inviting I thought I should consult Lisa about how to improve my own space at home. There were even suits that could be purchased if needed. Lisa thought of everything her guest would need.
I stayed in a single King room on the third floor. My initial impression was that this could be the nicest motel I have ever stayed in. The room was spotless, warm on entry, and comfortable. There was a large tv, desk area for work on the go, and an incredible view as well. My bed had six pillows and was surprisingly more comfortable than my bed at home. The gift shop in the lobby had many beverages both adult and other to save a trip out (if that's your thing). Check in and out was quick and painless and didn't require me to have an app or create an account.
I felt very honored to be a guest at Lewis & Clark. I had always wanted to stay there when I lived in Bozeman years ago in the past as a student. Their street sign is an iconic image of an earlier time and one of few I have seen folks take the initiative to maintain.
Lisa told me she carried on the Motel that her father had started. I was amazed to find out he was also the designer of the motel. She showed me pictures of her father and the business before some of the remodels with earlier decorating styles. I can say with confidence her father would be so proud of how well she has done on carrying on his legacy of providing incomparable hospitality.
Thank you so much to the Lewis & Clark Motel, Lisa, and the staff for treating me like a human and for your obvious objection to the seemingly accepted process that has gripped other parts of this industry of removing the human factor. My hat goes off to you. I had considered another location in town and couldn't even speak with a receptionist that was local. I can't say enough how wonderful it is to know that there are folks like you in the world who prioritize the customer experience over cutting every cost corner possible to make an extra buck. You are a true benefit to your community and a shining business example for us all. Happy...
Read moreMy family and I cannot put into words how wonderful the Lewis and Clark motel is. We are locals but live outside of Bozeman. The Lewis and Clark is our go-to destination for holidays and staycation. The amount of value provided for a stay here is unparalleled! This is the classiest and most welcoming hotel/motel we have ever experienced.
The rooms are wonderful. My kids rave about how comfortable the beds are. My wife and I have ample room to stretch out and our family of 4 feels quite at home with an awesome TV, mini fridge, microwave coffee machine and much more. The rooms are so lovely and inviting.
The unparalleled Wow Factor has to be the spa. This past weekend the family spent 4.5 to 5 hours luxuriating in the pool, hot tub, sauna and work out room. The spa bathrooms have a most amazing shower. The water provided is one of those fancy faucets that let you choose between tap water and 3 variations of “fancy water”. Absolutely every square inch of this place is spotless. Immaculate. You could eat off the floors. The decorations are beyond my expectations. So very relaxing and calming and inviting.
All that being said, the very best part of our visits has to be the hospitality. We are welcomed as dear friends. The extras provided as you enter the lobby feel like coming home to your dear mother’s house. The decorations are awesome inspiring! Always delicious treats and coffee/tea that are high end and delicious. There has been an expansion of the offerings to include a lovely little shop. All sorts of treats and memorabilia/gifts are for sale. The branded cloths are such high quality. Luxurious robes and swimwear also is available.
I’m not a prolific provider of ratings…this business has absolutely compelled me to take the time to share these thoughts and observations. Our family has stayed 10+ times and never had anything but fulfilling experiences. This year my wife and I asked our girls if they’d prefer Christmas presents or a stay at Lewis and Clark and they chose L & C without hesitation!
After our stay this past weekend we hit Costco before coming home. The lady who checks receipts on the way out commented on the kids, she said she noticed their smiles a mile away! She asked why were we all so happy. We proudly displayed our Lewis and Clark sweatshirts and told her about our staycation tradition. What a blast and absolutely the very best...
Read moreIt was my 50th birthday this year. In anticipation of this milestone, I had one simple wish—to swim in a pool. Growing up in Florida, every one of my birthdays was spent swimming. Now that I live in Montana, finding a pool for my birthday required additional planning, and that's exactly what I did.
After an extensive search, I reached out to the Lewis and Clark Motel and explained my birthday plans. They told me I had to book a room, which was surprisingly expensive for a dressed-up Motel 6, to access the pool. Fine. The pool looked cool, and I’m worth it! You only turn 50 once, right? I booked the room, asking for an early check-in, and a late check-out.
When we arrived, I once again emphasized that my sole purpose was to enjoy a swim in the pool with my kids, and that we wouldn't even be sleeping in the room. The following morning, on my birthday, we returned to the motel, eagerly anticipating a day of floating in the pool. I turned in the room keys to an unoccupied front desk, and looked forward to the poolside retreat. We stepped out briefly for an errand, and when we came back, still well within our approved late check-out time, the person at the front desk unexpectedly denied us access to the pool.
I explained the situation, telling them that I returned the keys because we didn't use the room, assuming we could still use the pool. I was told that since we were no longer registered guests, access to the pool was off-limits. I asked for an exception considering the circumstances, only to be met with another refusal.
I can't comment on the quality of the beds or the water pressure in the shower, but I can say with certainty that Lisa, the owner and manager of this place, lacked any form of kindness or understanding, and in this instance, didn’t operate her business with hospitality.
She may have gotten her money for that night, but she lost my future business and any chance of a positive recommendation.
To make sure I wasn't crazy, I called several other hotels in the area with pools to ask about their policies. They all said they could easily accommodate this type of request. If only I had chosen differently… save yourself, and do NOT stay at the Lewis &...
