Got a cocktail, appetizers, and entrées from AMOB, and I'm satisfied, I only have a few things to note.
Voodoo juice ($7 not bad price) was not too sweet, I enjoyed this after a long beach day. The hushpuppies were actually really good, especially with some dabs of cocktail.
The oysters were good, although a few were quite small. The horseradish is nice and spicy just the way I like it 👌🏽
The Shrimp and Scallops entrée was superb. The only issue I had with it was that I ordered Blackened and either the waiter or kitchen messed that up and gave me regular sautéed. It was still tasty, but again, not what I ordered. I know this for sure bc my gf ordered the same, but she ordered sautéed, and the plates were exactly the same look and taste. I know blackened when I see it and these were not. Great flavor regardless, so I didn't make a fuss. Green beans weren't mushy or too crispy, just right. Garlic mash was a little bland.
Mom got the seafood pasta dish in marinara, which she stated was too sweet. She actually didn't finish the plate (or pan lol bc it comes out in a pan). The girls were happy with their garden salads (upcharge for salads).
One thing to note, this place has snow crab ($40 at the time of this review) but they don't show them on their menu, so that's a little strange... But for anyone that cares, they're there but not shown. So ask for them if you want them.
Overall tasty, I would recommend for anyone looking for good seafood or oysters. It was $120 after tip for...
Read moreOur server Stephanie went above and beyond answering every question we had. However when I asked if I could substitute one of the sides on a meal, I was told due to “new rules” that it wasn’t possible. Stephanie, being the wonderful server she is, went to double check with the kitchen. Unfortunately she came back and informed me that no substitutions could be made, even though on the menu it clearly stated I had a choice of two sides with the meal. Also, no where on the menu did it state substitutions weren’t allowed. This is very disheartening especially for those that may have dietary restrictions. I ended up choosing a different meal, the shrimp and scallops. When I received my plate, the potatoes weren’t warm at all, but the carrots were hot. The scallops were extremely mushy and honestly tasted like they were going bad, drowning in oil/butter to mask it. I’ve been going to AMOB since I was old enough to hold a fork in my hand, and have never been this dissatisfied with the quality of the food. Not only that, but I have never experienced a restaurant to not substitute for a paying guest. It just shows that the kitchen staff is extremely inexperienced and unfortunately lazy. This is not good for a business that prides itself in fresh seafood. Due to these “new rules” that haven’t been stated on the menu nor told to any guest as they are being seated, I don’t think we’ll be coming back. And quite honestly I don’t think I will recommend it to...
Read moreFunny story....I literally live 1 minute from the Ellenton location and somehow ended up at this one in Bradenton for Mother's Day. I am sooo glad I did. Got their sometime between 6:30/7 so not to early and both my Mother and I were given a flower each each after being greeted by 2 lovely ladies. They were so sweet and welcoming. My parents don't walk too well, and I guess they noticed and put us in the 1st booth so they didn't have to walk at all. You can ask for a snow crab platter ( or even a crab boil) that's usually available but not on the menu. Comes with 2 big clusters and let me say that is all you need lol. Very meaty 🦀 🦀. Not every place has the good ones, but Bradenton' Anna Marie Oyster Bar does. 3 alcoholic drinks and 3 platters were about $120. Adding in the atmosphere and attention we were given, I will say it was worth every penny. I've been to places where they ask if you need anything, and it takes 5 minutes to receive your whatever but not here. It was immediately brought out, with a smile. And being that it was getting later and they still had plenty of flowers to give out speaks to the well run management. I absolutely 100% recommend this restaurant, and honestly, next time I feel the need, I'm pretty sure I'm taking the drive to go to this location. Well done and thank you AMOB for a memorable...
