The owner Ramirez said in an article dated June 22 2022 that they make people happy. Not a chance. Customer service is horrible. No proper greeting at the door and staff are plentiful but scarce. I sat at the bar and the bartender made no effort to provide outstanding customer service, only to find out that the staff like to hangout in the back and ignore the guests. Yes he took my order but that was all. Customers are not greeted with a smile; There is no prompt and attentive service; The menu is forced on you without server explaining items or specials; Does not check on customers often….didn’t really care how your meal was going; Definitely doesn’t anticipate customer needs, not very proactive; Did not make the experience personal; Bartender eating and drinking behind the bar during his shift when he should be worried about his guests; No one showed interested in customer feedback; There is no innovation here at the restaurant, nothing special about the food as you can get the food menu offerings at any Mexican restaurant in the are. I don’t know how they can advertise authentic Mexican food like mother made it. It’s just great pre-made Sysco ingredients. There is a reason why this place is never busy. When you have amazing places next door like Clancys, Gators and Kelsey’s this restaurant is going to have a tough time attracting customers when these other locations go out of their way for their guests. Just because you think you have good food doesn’t mean that will attract people. At this rate Avocado’s will never become a local destination location.

This review is outdated due to this being the DAY THEY OPEN. They were working out their ways during this time of the review so I WILL NOT have the review reflect their way of service. Now with that out of the way The chicken fajita was really good and yes they do offer CORN and FLOUR tortillas. The Chips and Dip were GREAT and they gave us seconds on that as well. The dips actually tasted like they made it with care and didn't try to water it down to have it spread at the time of this review. Now for my food this was a complete different story my tamales didn't taste fresh at all, the burrito was okay as well but didn't have much for filling and my cheap but not cheap taco tasted like a taco bell Taco but at 3 times the amount more and not as tasty. Their dessert we had was a flan cake. This item is NOT house made. You can taste its pre made and frozen. Very disappointing for what the establishment is trying to be. If I were them I would actually go out and have someone learn a home made recipe of the Flan and tamales. Then put this into their restaurant. I have seen this place bring a crowd which is good but I don't not believe the food is 100% there yet at the time of the review. My recommendation isn't there yet for this place but I also wouldn't say not go. I'm in the middle. I hope you enjoy it though and look forward to what you all have to say about your experience.

We visited this place the Sunday afternoon Milton hurricane. I had chicken with shrimp. It was loaded with TONS of melted cheese...see picture--It was hard to find the taste of the meal!! The food and the service is very poor. Their food doesn't have real taste. Their salsas are water down and no real taste!! VERY POOR QUALITY. THE PLACE LOOKS NICE INSIDE. But that's it!!!! Drinks are pricey. The place was not even half full. The host told us to wait and went back there for a while. Meanwhile We saw that our friends were sitting by the bar and right across there was an empty table. The 4 of us sat ourselves there, so we could chitchat. All of the sudden the manager came With THE HOSTESS ! And asked us if she has sat us there. We said no, and he said that we shouldn't have done that. He as mad!!! NO MANNERS! he needed to talk to the hostess, but don't make your clients feel bad! That's a no, no!!! One can see how he is focus on procedures, NOT results!!!!! They need to fix their service and the food :( :( :(

I waited over a year for this restaurant to open. My sister picked this restaurant to have dinner on her birthday with the family. I read some of the negative reviews and thought I gave the restaurant the benefit of the doubt. It took a long time for someone to take our food and drink orders. The tortilla chips tasted old and were stale and oily. We all agreed that new and old tortilla chips were mixed together (disgusting if you ask me) Food took over 40 minutes (it was not even cold by the time it came to our table) I ordered maduros (fried ripe plantain) and what I got pre boiled plantain that was then cooked in oil (I was very disappointed) because I love fried ripe plantain. I decided to try my Chile relleno it was dry I could not eat it. My niece ordered the Carne azada, she tried it and said it tasted like rubber. She asked me to try a piece and in fact it was rubbery and had no flavor. I could not even chew it. It was bad! No waitress or manager came to our 12 party table to ask how the food was. We had to keep asking for refills on our drinks. Overall we were all disappointed with the food and bad service. Management really needs to step up because all these negative reviews will not be beneficial for the business. The one star I gave is because they do offer military discount (if you ask), which was applied on my...
