The Perfect Perk Cafe — Restaurant in Bradley Beach

I have been on the hunt for the best coffee in the Bradley Beach/ Asbury Park area all summer and Perfect Perk has reigned supreme. They are constantly updating their specialty menu, with a variety of new coffee options. I’ve been in town for about a month and have tried 3 different specialty cold brews, all delicious!! My boyfriend drinks coffee black and also said their cold brew tastes delicious on its own. Their sizes are true to size (the large is actually massive and the medium is quite big as well) so it makes paying $6 for a coffee worth it. Everytime I go it is not nearly as busy as it should be, this place deserves recognition for being the best coffee in the area!! Has a great indoor and outdoor sitting area, perfect for catching up on work. The only reason I gave 4/5 stars for food is because they could not confirm if pastries had nuts since they source the baked goods from an outside bakery, but I did enjoy a cinnamon roll and would be interested in trying other food on the menu. I’m going to share my honest opinion about this place. Little did the barista know I am a heavy Google reviewer. I came to the establishment with my wife and child. I asked for some coffees and some danishes and there was an option to tip and I did not tip. The barista seemed very agitated by it and took 15 minutes to give me a danish that was already there, in front of your face. I thought it was very weird. when she gave me the Danish, it was extremely stale and she knew it was stale and purposely gave it to me because I did not tip her. I didn’t decide to call her out because I knew she did it by purpose and she was very nasty so I left my danish on the table and decided I will never ever come back to this establishment again. They also didn’t have the avocado toast in stock, which is why I walked in there the first place.

I was really disappointed with my last trip to Perfect Perk. My girlfriend and I went in to get a couple of lattes as we have almost every weekend, but this time, the girls behind the counter were socializing quite a bit, then the order in front of us was wrong, and we were asked if we were “waiting for something”. I could understand if the place was packed, but it was only us waiting at the counter for our order. The lattes were wrong, the espresso machine was not turned on, and we were both given iced coffees. My girlfriend, who ordered soy milk because she is lactose intolerant, was given regular milk, and the croissant we ordered was stale.
