I would consider Asian Spice Cafe to be a hidden gem for our neighborhood. For one, it has an unassuming appearance tucked away in the corner of Brambleton Town Center. Two, there's no shortage of Asian restaurants in our area so it would just be easiest to order from the closest restaurant for that Asian food craving. In our case, Asian Spice Cafe is within walking distance from us, and I'm happy to say that it's great not just for the location, but because I legitimately think it has some of the best Asian food in our area.
My recommendations include the hot and sour soup, the crispy beef, General Tso's chicken, and the chicken with eggplant. The hot and sour soup in particular is very rich in flavor and enjoying it with the accompanying wonton crisps makes it a home run for me. They also have an extensive sushi menu that we haven't tried yet, but we've ordered a few pieces of salmon sushi for our kid and he loved them. Everything is fresh and made to order. They also have some sauces and chili oil on hand to add some extra flavor to your meal.
Staff are very kind, patient, and efficient. We always feel welcome here!
If there's one thing to ding them on, the interior could use a little bit of polishing up. The tables can feel a bit sticky, the soda fountain and condiment station could be a little tidier, but that's just nitpicking. It appears the vast majority of orders here are take out or delivery, so it's understandable.
Overall, I would highly recommend visiting and having a meal here, I'm already looking forward to...
Read moreFresh ingredients, secret sauces, and skilled chefs (watch them) yield sensational savoriness - unequivocally the best east Asian food around. Aside from providing an unmatched experience for your taste receptors, Asian Spice Cafe is highly personalizable; request extra sauce, no vegetables, extra meat. Highly accommodating to people with allergies or msg restrictions.
Always get the wonton soup: first, the steam hits your forehead and condenses, the soft outer coating settles in your mouth and provides contrast to the distinctive, bold interior wonderland - and you experience that eight times!
Or try the fried wings: peel the crunchy outer layer to reveal tender, glowing juiciness and love; one small bite will unleash a burst of energy and have your taste buds dancing and pleading for more - experience this six times!
If you indulge here habitually, ask a cashier about the rewards card, which isn't heavily advertised (until now). Also, some items on the menu claiming to be spicy aren't all so - ask for extra spicy. Also, there are a lot of vegetables in the kids meals, which propels a great cause but simultaneously serves against a kid's best interest so - ask for no vegetables or no mushrooms or something like that - I have yet to meet a kid who likes mushrooms.
If you have read through all this, you are probably weary and hungry and you deserve to indulge in a hearty meal at...
Read moreToday I ordered online for lunch. When I arrived I checked in with the cashier at the front who is usually nice and he told me my order was not ready. I saw my order was being put on the side by the to go orders by the soda machine, checked it was my order. I told the lady arranging the food, took the food, and said thank you. When I was away 10 steps she comes yelling to see a receipt so I show her my online receipt and confirm my name. I showed her my email and she shook her head then snatched my order from me. I had to go tell the cashier at the front then went to the lady to grab my order and she said nothing. What was the point of this interaction? I checked in with her and she didn't say anything until I walked away. She demanded to see the receipt so I showed her my online receipt, then she shakes her head and snatches my bag away? Like what? I saw her shaking her head at another customer checking if his order is ready. If that is not the place you pick up orders then make a better system.
Edit: changing review. I ordered chicken and I had a random piece of shrimp in my order. If you have an allergy beware, they seem to cross...
