If you're craving Thai cuisine, My Thai Place should be at the top of your list. From the moment you step inside, the vibrant atmosphere hints at the culinary delights to come. While it may not be strictly authentic Thai, the freshness of the ingredients truly sets this restaurant apart; you can taste the quality in every bite.
The flavors here are nothing short of exquisite. The balance of sweet, spicy, and savory is perfectly executed, with spice levels hitting just the right notes. For those who like a little kick, the Drunken Noodles with your choice of beef or chicken packs a rustic flavor and satisfying heat, rated at a solid 3 chili level.
One standout dish is the Panang Curry. Unlike what some might expect, My Thai Place does not offer red curry—only green curry and the wonderfully sweet Panang (there is a difference between red curry and panang curry)The ability to customize your curry with extra veggies, like red bell peppers and fresh basil, elevates it even further. I highly recommend the Chicken or Beef Panang Curry for a delightful, creamy experience.
Another must-try is the Pad Thai, which can be made with any protein of your choice. It’s perfectly stir-fried with just the right amount of sauce and garnished with fresh herbs. If you like lime with your Pad Thai, make sure to request it, as it’s not included on the plate. If you're in the mood for something crispy, the Goong Tod shrimp appetizer is a delightful start, while the Wonton Soup is a comforting classic that will warm your soul.
For a twist on traditional flavors, don't miss the Pad Se Ew. It's another favorite that perfectly complements the restaurant's lineup.
If you visit when it's available, definitely consider the Massaman Curry from the specials menu; it's a rich and fragrant dish that shouldn't be overlooked.
We have been consistently going to this place since 2017 and overall have enjoyed this little staple in the Brambleton community. If I were to have any negative thing to say is that sometimes it seems they can not handle extremely busy times and sometimes it shows through quality of the dish (which they will correct for you) or less attentive staff. Overall, My Thai Place is a fantastic spot for anyone looking to indulge in fresh, flavorful Thai food. The staff is accommodating, so feel free to ask for those extra veggies to personalize your meal. Whether you're a spice aficionado or prefer something milder, there's something here...
Read moreI’ve been to this Thai spot in Brambleton a few times, and overall, the food has been decent. It’s usually quick, and my orders have been correct most of the time. For a convenient Thai option in the area, it’s been a reliable go-to—until my last visit.
During that visit, we ordered a curry dish and drunken noodles and requested mild spice, as we always do. Unfortunately, what we received was extremely spicy—so much so that neither my friend nor I could eat the food. For context, my friend has a higher spice tolerance than I do, and I’d say I’m somewhere in the middle, but this was way beyond either of us.
When we brought this up to our server, we were told (rather dismissively) that what we received was the mild version. This was frustrating because we’ve both eaten here before and know what their mild spice level usually tastes like. To make matters worse, my friend was nine months pregnant and just wanted something she could comfortably eat.
We asked if we could have the dishes remade or swapped out for something else, but the server didn’t offer any solutions. Instead, she just laughed it off and insisted that this was the mildest option available. There was no real effort to make things right, and we left feeling unheard and disappointed. We ended up boxing up the food but didn’t even take it home—it was simply too spicy to eat.
Unfortunately, that experience left a bad taste (literally and figuratively), and I haven’t been back since. I’ve started exploring other Thai spots in the area, and while I wish things had gone differently, there are definitely places that take customer feedback...
Read moreI love Thai food and I am having food from this restaurant from Last 4 years. Earlier I used to dine in, but past 1.5 years it’s mostly take away. Trust me, if you dine in food tastes different and if it’s take away it’s awful. I thought am just assuming but this is like 4th or 5th time. Basil fried rice, Pad see-ew and chicken paradise are my regular items in my list. But the quality changes so much that now I started hating them. Came down to just 1 item but it has no flavor. Literally I feel like am eating plain rice veggies chicken with nothing(no salt no sauce or flavor anything). Now it just looks pale whitish color to see aswell. Pic is bright due to lighting in my home. Am totally done and never going to this place again. Note: you guys should seriously serve better when we are paying for the food even if it’s take away. Don’t assume no one would come back to show you what kind of aweful food you guys are packing in the container. The pic that I included is in trash, trust me I never waste food but if I know I will have throw up if I eat something, I just can’t help myself. I wish I had zero...
