===== 08/2022 update: since writing my initial review 3 years ago, I now think that Vinnie's Pizza & Pasta has THE BEST works pie in all of Branchburg – it is my go-to when I have friends over and I don’t want to cook (read: quite often) – additionally, all of their meals are consistently very good (and consistency is so hard to find these days at any food joint) and fairly priced But, I am mainly writing this update due to: long story long, we at least yearly have medium sized gigs that are catered, and in the past we have used the “other pizza joint on 202” . . . mainly because my girls thought they made the best penne vodka . . . I am not sure when they became licensed to be penne vodka connoisseurs, but they are my princesses, so whatever – then, over the past two years, the owner there, whom you book your catering through, gave my wife some nasty ’tude, so much so, that last year my wife said to me right after she got off the phone with him: “he did again, he gave me attitude as if he was doing me a favor” – to which I replied “then the heck with him, I mean why put up with that when ordering hundred of dollars worth of food?!?!? - I can throw a stone off the front porch and hit at least another dozen joints just like his - we are done with him” (and we have never gone back there since, for ANYTHING) – thus, a couple of weeks ago we decided to try Vinnie's Pizza & Pasta for our annual summer gig, since as per below, we eat there quite often and we know their food is good and priced fairly – wow, they did a nice job – the meat balls were mainly meat (extremely rare these days), the chicken dish was moist, sausage & peppers got some rave reviews and the penne vodka, to me (again, I am NOT a licensed penne vodka connoisseur like my princesses) was great too – but the real deal for me, was their eggplant parm – oh my dog, so good! - just like we (my mom, me and my wife) make it – out of this world GOOD – and their prices were fair/in line with any other pizza/pasta joint in town (even any others on 202!) I also need to add this note: my 93-year-old mom, a pure Eyetalian, has moved to assisted living nearby – I go visit her weekly, and she insists that I bring her a plain cheese pie, practically every week, from Vinnie's Pizza & Pasta . . . and during her first bite, I kid you not, she goes “hmmmmm, this is so good” – every time - ha!
2019 initial review: we have been going to Vinnie's Pizza & Pasta for takeout, mainly pizza but meals too, for years (decades?) - we live a couple of blocks north of them, so they are also convenient - to be honest, all of their food has actually gotten better over the years – their specialty pizzas are also very good, as are their meals – all are fairly priced too – listen, I get it: Italian food is so personal, based upon your tastes and upbringing, but we (myself, wife, two girls and my mom) enjoy their food and service and order from...
Read moreSo, I'm writing this review all the way from Surprise, Arizona, and, I know that sounds strange but hear my story. My wife has been a nurse for the last 22 years and after a lengthy discussion she has decided to go to New Jersey to help with the Covid 19 crisis. Long story short not everything has gone as smooth as we would like but she's not there and safe. Knowing that I am originally from New Jersey and hearing many stories about the food and hospitality that New Jersey has, she definitely wanted to try what I call 'true Italian' food. I am from South Jersey and have no clue about Vinnie's. I google restaurants near the hotel that they put her up in and Vinnie's was the first listed. So, I called yesterday, and, I knew it was going to be a good experience with just how the young lady made me feel as if I was family. She helped me determine how close my wife's hotel was and made the entire experience enjoyable and professional. Long story....my wife ordered some food (Lasagna Pizza, Meatballs and a Cannoli) and expressed to me that not only was the food top notch but that again the service was excellent but they were extremely helpful and professional. Said they made her feel like she was one of the family.
Vinnie's Pizza and Pasta, THANK YOU for helping my small town wife from Arizona feel good about your restaurant and food. She will definitely be coming back and when this Covid 19 crisis is over and I get to come home for a visit I will Definitely be...
Read moreVinnie’s is a hidden gem! We stopped in with our toddler after a long day, and everything from the service to the food was excellent. The staff was kind and welcoming, and they were super patient even with a busy, wiggly little one at the table.
We ordered a large cheese pizza, garlic knots, and a chicken parm sub—everything was fresh, flavorful, and came out quickly. The crust on the pizza was perfect (crispy but not too thin), and the garlic knots were soft, buttery, and packed with flavor. You can tell they use quality ingredients and care about what they’re serving.
The atmosphere is simple and cozy—great for a quick bite or family meal. Prices were very reasonable for the portions, and the food tasted homemade, not like your average takeout place.
We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in town. Highly recommend for families, pizza lovers, or anyone who just wants solid Italian...
