City Buffet in Seffner, Florida, presents an interesting dining option for those in the area looking to indulge in a variety of dishes at an affordable price point. This buffet-style restaurant offers an extensive selection of Asian cuisine, including Chinese, Japanese, and some American dishes, catering to a wide range of tastes.
The restaurant's interior is spacious and functional, designed to accommodate a large number of guests, making it a suitable choice for families and large groups. The seating arrangement is straightforward, with tables and booths that can handle peak dining times. The decor is typical of many buffet restaurants, with an emphasis on practicality over style.
Upon arrival, guests are greeted and promptly seated. The service at City Buffet is efficient, with staff members regularly checking in to clear plates and refill beverages. However, the interaction tends to be minimal, focusing more on the tasks at hand rather than engaging with diners. This approach is understandable given the buffet setting, where the main attraction is the food itself rather than the dining experience.
The variety of food available is a significant draw for City Buffet. The buffet line includes sections for appetizers, entrees, sides, a sushi bar, and a dessert station. Popular items such as crab legs, General Tso’s chicken, and sushi rolls are frequently replenished, ensuring availability. The quality of the food, while acceptable for buffet standards, can be hit or miss. Some dishes might be flavorful and fresh, while others could benefit from more attention to seasoning and temperature control.
One of the highlights of City Buffet is its affordability. The pricing is competitive, offering good value for diners looking to enjoy a wide range of dishes at a low cost. This aspect makes it an attractive option for budget-conscious families and individuals.
However, it's worth noting that the dining experience at City Buffet may not appeal to everyone. Those seeking a more intimate dining atmosphere or high-quality gourmet dishes might find the buffet experience lacking. The focus here is on quantity and variety rather than culinary excellence.
The cleanliness and upkeep of the restaurant are adequate, with staff members working to keep the dining and buffet areas tidy. Nonetheless, during busy times, the cleanliness levels can fluctuate, which is somewhat expected in a high-traffic buffet environment.
In summary, City Buffet in Seffner, Florida, offers a practical dining option for those seeking variety and value. While it may not provide a memorable culinary journey, it delivers on its promise of a wide-ranging buffet experience that can satisfy immediate hunger needs without breaking the bank. For diners with appropriate expectations, City Buffet can be a satisfactory choice for a...

I don’t normally write reviews, but I feel obligated to share what I just experienced so others don’t waste their money or risk their health like I did.
Let’s start with the food: truly terrible quality, across the board. Most items were stone cold, despite sitting under the heat lamps at the “hot” station. It didn’t just feel old — it tasted like food that had been reheated from a previous day. The bourbon chicken was especially revolting. Some pieces were literally cold to the touch, and I had to spit it out because something about it just didn’t sit right in my gut. I honestly questioned if it was even safe to eat — and my stomach hasn’t stopped rumbling since. I’m sitting here writing this review feeling physically uneasy, praying I don’t get food poisoning.
To make things worse, the plates were dirty, and I’m shocked this place has passed any kind of health inspection. Nothing was being restocked the entire hour I was there — no fresh food, no signs of effort. Everything that was out looked like it had been sitting there for hours... if not longer.
We spent $64 for myself and my two kids, and I deeply regret every dollar. The only halfway-decent item was the cheese-filled rangoon-type snack, and even that was lukewarm and questionable. The General Tso’s chicken and teriyaki chicken were both cold and rubbery, clearly not fresh. The desserts? Don’t even get me started. The cakes were so stale they reminded me of dish sponges, and the frosting was dry and crusted like painted decorations, not something edible. That’s how old it was.
The best part of the whole meal was the cold fruit, which says a lot. At least that couldn’t be messed up (I hope).
I can’t believe this place is still in business. I felt genuinely nervous eating there, and five minutes into sitting down, I wanted to walk out. I should’ve trusted my instincts and ordered takeout from somewhere reputable — at least then I’d have gotten food that was hot and freshly made.
Take my advice: Do NOT eat here. This place needs a serious overhaul or a visit from the health department. I wouldn’t even recommend it to my worst enemy. I’m posting this in the hope it saves someone else the awful experience I just had. It’s beyond disappointing —...
Read moreStaff is not so friendly, you have to be behind them to get refill on drinks. I wouldn't say it's a very clean place. I've been there a couple times and there always out of soap in the womans bathroom. I had an incident where I saw a female employee go to the bathroom and she came out and didn't wash her hands and she put her apron on and started refilling out foods. I also had a accident today where my son slipped out of the chair as he was sitting down to eat. The floor is very slippery out in the back and he fell hit the bottom of the metal of there tables. He split his chin open. There was employees saw it happened. No one cared to come see if he was okay or even clean up all the blood that was splattered the floor or table and chair. I went to Ask the waitress is they had a first aid kit to clean his cut in the mean while we took him to the ER to get stitches and all they gave me was two bandaids and told me to wash him in the restroom. A while later while I got him to calm down and got are things to go. I talked to the hostess that I needed to speak to the manager to file a accident report. They said there was no manager and that they couldn't do anything but give me back the money I paid for my childs meal. She said there was nothing she could do and that it was my fault he got hurt because she said a lot of time children dont sit right or play to much. She assumed I wasn't paying attention. Not for nothing but my child is very shy and very percussion of things. So I told her he was just trying to sit and eat his meal but his chair slipped and he fell, so she stared acting as if she no longer speaker any English. So I asked when her manager would be there and she said he would be there tomorrow. So I said she will definitely be hearing back from me tomorrow. I'm a person that never complains we had been going there for quit a while now but I always decided to look past the employees flaws but after today they took it to far. Not only was it there falt that there chairs are unsteady but also there floor is slippery but the fact that they didn't care that someone got hurt and helped but anyways best of luck to you guys that will be going...
