Five Guys — Restaurant in Brandon

TLDR: if you're in the area save your time and money, go to Brandon Burgers.

I am giving them 2 stars for just opening (would be 1). The online ordering is not operational upon opening which is a big disappointment. That is just the tip of the iceberg though unfortunately. Employees don't seem thrilled to be there, I felt like I was bothering them by being a customer. Maybe it was my general attempt to keep a smile on my face, or use of "please" and "thank you" that rubbed them the wrong way. I ordered 2 burgers identically, one was fulfilled correctly, the other must have been from a different order that they just mixed up as it was not remotely correct. Beyond that they never called my name because their call ahead order system is less than stellar (online wasn't functional so I called ahead to place my order). Upon inquiring about my order they then started making the fries. So they made the burger after I got there and informed them I was there to pick up my order, they never called my name (which was spelled "Dennif" after repeating it 3 times on the phone) so the burgers just sat on the shelf. I finally inquired after waiting for about 15 minutes, they then realized it was my order and proceeded to make the fries (which had not yet been processed). I had a barely warm burger that wasn't what I ordered, and the fresh hot fries were unfortunately soggy and limp. I must admit I hadn't been to a five guy in probably 2 years. I have always frequented them since about 2006 and enjoyed the product, this was not the product I remembered. I will say though that almost all restaurants seem much more sub par post pandemic. We love their burgers the best out of all the burger chains. It's considered more of a fast casual restaurant than a fast food restaurant, so I won't group them into that category. The burgers are made fresh to order and the meat is never frozen.. yadda, yadda, yadda. This location is brand new and it's hopping. I know I'm super happy to have one in the Brandon vicinity once again, and I think many other people feel the same way. I still don't understand why they closed the other 2 restaurants in Brandon a couple of years ago. They were always popular.

Our visit on Saturday was a good one. My husband ordered a cheeseburger with what seemed like every topping on the menu (mushrooms, jalapenos, grilled onions, and so much more). I just got my usual hamburger with extra pickles. We shared an order of regular size fries. Honestly, I forgot that a small order is plenty for 2 of us. They fill that bag up with so many extra fries. We couldn't even them all. Everything was exactly as I remember. The burgers are juicy and well seasoned. The fries were delicious as always. They have the Coca-Cola Freestyle machines at this location. There were many Coke products to choose from with all different flavor options. The complimentary roasted peanuts are always great to have a round while waiting for your order. The shakes are thick and delicious. I didn't get one this time, but I will soon. I didn't get any pictures because we gobbled everything up too quickly.

Service was great! The restaurant appeared to be clean. Our cashier was even sweeping up peanut shells when there was no line. It was all a very pleasant visit. We can't wait to go back. I want to try the Cajun style...

Okay so they just opened that’s why I’m giving two stars instead of 1 because the manager said they’re still in training which I get I managed for 5 years I know they need to time to train staff.

My thing is my husband ordered a plain hotdog and fries it doesn’t get much simpler than that. The hotdog was like someone stomped on it crushed in foil with squished bread and the fries were not cooked all the way.

I called spoke with Leon who was very friendly and gave me a voucher that I can use valid for 5 days.

I’m pregnant so I sent my husband back the next day Leon took my order number 31 as well as my husband’s name so I thought I spoke to him at 7:38 on a Wednesday my husband came to use the voucher at around 5 on Thursday the next day.

He told them what happened one of the people said a slick comment I won’t repeat and walked away and then Leon came up and said he knows nothing about this voucher but he later apologized I get it maybe he forgot didn’t write it down etc.

After all that though they literally gave us hotdog no fries 😂 I really don’t get it.

Tbh this isn’t about training this is just not caring we didn’t even call or come back at this point we will just go to a different location until they can get...
