Poke Poke - Sushi Unrolled — Restaurant in Brandon

This is the newest poke bowl restaurant in the Tampa/Brandon area. It's a clean & modern atmosphere that is very Instagram worthy. The service was great! I was greeted right away, and was even offered samples of the dressings. It's like all the others in that you choose your base, proteins, veggies/fruit, sauce, and toppings. I decided to get the Rainbow Bowl that comes with crab, salmon, avocado, cucumber, carrot, pineapple, and sesame seeds. It's one of their signature bowls. I substituted the House sauce with the Sesame Ginger. The base was a spring mix salad because I wanted to keep it healthy. However, I did cringe once we got to the avocado topping. I noticed that the avocado had been pre-sliced and sitting on top of each other separated by wax paper. It was a big turn off for me. I'm picky like that. I don't like to see brown or grey colors in my avocado slices. I'm used to seeing the avocado whole, and then sliced right before being served. That did not happen. That flattened half of avocado looked very sad in that bowl.

As usual, the camera ate first. The avocado tasted okay despite being brown in some parts. The rest of the veggies and pineapple all blended well together. There wasn't a whole lot of salmon or crab. The choice of dressing was very good. The overall flavors in the bowl just didn't knock my socks off. Let's just say I've had better bowls at other restaurants in the area. The protein wasn't the highlight in this bowl.

I did notice that they have mochi and soft serve ice cream along with various toppings. They also have boba tea drinks. I didn't try any of the drinks or ice cream. I do see this place being a good healthy option on this corner of Falkenburg. The location of the store happens to be in between a Potbelly Sandwich Shop and a Five Guys. Poke Poke is by far one of my favorite restaurants in town! I’ve been hooked ever since the beginning, the food always looks vibrant, colorful, fresh, and of course delicious! This establishment clearly takes cleanliness to the next level. The floor have always looked spotless, the sneeze-guard glass is free from fingerprints and smudges, and their employees have always looked presentable. Although I may be a creature of habit, there is a plethora of options to choose from without it feeling overwhelming when trying to decide from their menu.

Their customer service is like no other, I’m a frequent customer at this establishment and I have to say I’ve meet quite a few of their staff members and I’ve yet to met anyone who didn’t greet me at the door followed by an inviting and eager smile. They make sure to treat every customer that walks through their door as valued. For those reasons alone, Poke Poke will have a longtime supporter in me!

Overall, an excellent place for your sushi cravings in an innovative way. 10/10 would...

I'm usually not one to write positive reviews, but this place deserves one. I've been to countless fancy and expensive poke restaurants in the past two decades I've been on this earth, but poke poke has to be my favorite. My bowl was filled to the brim with tuna, there was a perfect ratio for all of the ingredients, and the portions were huge! Thought I was just gonna get lunch, but I had enough left over for dinner! No complaints there, I'd eat from here every day of my life. I'd provide a picture of my food if I could, but my gluttony overtook me and I devoured most of it before I could capture the true beauty of this amazing dish.
