What a great find! I just happened to see reviews on Google not knowing that it just opened in December 2024. I just had to check it out. We don't have many tea rooms in this area. It was great to see another one pop up.
It's a new family-owned (mother & daughter) tea room on Moon Avenue near Morgan Street. The owners have done a great job in setting the mood with beautiful décor and music. I really love how they've set everything up. It's such a warm and open space. There's even a private room for group seating. It's all very lovely.
My reserved time for Royal Tea was set for 11:00 am on a weekday. It's by reservation only. I pretty much had the room to myself since it's so brand new. I don't expect that it will stay that way for too long.
Everything was delicious! The wild rice soup was the first course, and it was very comforting. The sandwiches were all so tasty. I really love their grandmother's chicken salad. I'm not usually a fan of yellow curry in chicken salad, but I loved this recipe. It didn't have an overwhelming taste of curry like others I've had in the past. It was just the right amount of everything. I think it even had pecans. The artichoke & cream cheese sandwich was so unique & tasty. The same goes for the cucumber dill open faced sandwich. So wonderful!
The homemade cinnamon chip scone and desserts on the top tier were all delicious. The flavor selections can be seasonal or daily, so you may get something different each time. I was hoping to try their sweet potato pie dessert, but I missed it. I'll be on the look out for it the next time it's offered.
They serve Harney & Sons tea. The mango black tea was a winner. It was very welcomed on an unseasonably cold day. The service was fantastic! I was offered another pot of tea, but one pot was enough for me. I may take them up on it next time. Yes, there will be many more visits in the...
Read moreWhispers of Autumn Tea Room is a treasured oasis located north of Brandon Blvd., on Moon Ave. (136 N. Moon Ave A, Brandon, FL 33510). The tea room pleasantly whisks you away from the everyday lunch or dining experience. The owners, a lovely mother-daughter pair, have left no stone unturned when it comes to their careful attention to detail & delivering a consistently high level of customer service. Yet, one feels no off-putting airs or stuffiness in the company of their kind & genuine care. Quite the opposite. One feels as if they're in the company of dear friends!
My sister & I decided to enjoy a "Girls Lunch Out" on a brisk January afternoon. We were promptly seated and treated to a pot of piping hot bottomless tea of choice. An Autumn-Ginger blend which was purely satisfying, without any artificial notes.
Our lunch was served with a delicious & hearty wild rice soup, along side a beautiful mixed green & chicken-walnut salad, dressed in Asian dressing. Scones were offered as an accompaniment, as a new selection of tea arrived.
All was enjoyed without the sounds of screaming babies, unruly kids or adults with loud/competing conversations overflowing into our dining experience! Truly a welcomed relief from the everday hassle found in many places these...
Read moreI was looking forward to visiting Whispers of Autumn after hearing about it so I made reservations for four. The night before our reservation one of my friends had an emergency and had to leave town. Upon arriving the next day I informed the owner that there would be three of us instead of four. She replied that we would be charged for the fourth person regardless because we did not give them 48 hours notice. Reluctantly I agreed but was not happy about this since there was no way I could have given 48 hours notice. During the service we were served tea for three. I asked why since we were being charged for four why weren’t we served for four. We were advised that since there were only three present they prepared for three. Since we paid for four I advised that I expect service for four but the owner refused to provide the fourth meal. I only asked for what I had to pay for. Needless to say they have lost my business and all of the friends...
