Great little place. I went specifically for the food, so will comment mostly on that. They did have a small area for grocery items. I think they are limited by space. As for food. I recall seeing 3 types of rice (white, yellow & dirty). Variety of meats; ribs, chicken, pork, & steak. Two types of beans, black & brown. Plantains fried and baked. Their was other stuff, but that is all I recall. The server spoke English, which is a hit or miss at some Latino stores. He was very friendly and told me what everything was. The cashier was also very friendly. My only disappointment is I did not receive as much meat as I have gotten from other Latino stores such as Melao in Kissimmee. They are the measuring stick I compare all others to. this store also did not have a great selection of pastries, like Melao, but again, it's a small grocery store. Seating was very limited. I recall 4 small tables. We got take out. I had dirty rice, pulled pork, black beans, backed plantain.ynwif had the same except with yellow rice. Meal was satisfying and we had left overs. Parking was not a problem as their were other stores on both sides. I would definitely recommend and plan...
Read moreA horrible place with disrespectful and belittling staff. If I could give no stars I would. I ordered a dish but started to feel nauseous (I'm pregnant) as I waited for it. I canceled and they tried to make me pay for it. I explained as best as I could (as I do not speak spanish) but the food was prepared. Also, because of a language barrier my mom who speaks some Spanish but understands most heard the woman who was preparing her food laughed at her attempt and picked on her (she is 1/2 cuban), which was so unprofessional and racist. We will not be returning. Her food was bland as well and tasted old. She threw it away and went to our usual. They also don't wear gloves while preparing food, disgusting. The guy at the register said something degrading as my mom was walking out she returned to the car upset. First time there is...
Read moreLet me start with , The food was very tasty, However I was Extremely disappointed when I received my delivery and opened the platter. For the price, the portion was very small. I ordered baked chicken with rice and beans. I received a huge portion of rice but one little piece of chicken. I would think for a dinner you would at least receive 2 pieces to say the least. ItIm not sure if this is the norm for La Familia Or it being the end of the day items were limited but I was very disappointed. I will order from them again as the food was tasty, but maybe I would just go in person instead of delivery, not sure if that will make a difference but I will see. Other than the portion I...
