Best Saturday experience! Love the drinks, breakfast is amazing too! Perfect for the whole family! I will still leave my 5 starts review on the restaurant, but sadly we had one of the worse experiences ever here last Saturday morning. Our waiter that worked Saturday, April 2, 2022, upstairs serving the table above the bar, was the worse. Waiting is not an issue for me when I know like everyone else that this restaurant is busy Saturday morning. Our biggest issue was how she handled things. I requested bottomless mimosa when she brought the drink, it was full of ice to my surprise, because when I go there it never has ice, I asked her to please bring my drink without ice, and she started to argue with me, and tell me that the glass could not be to the top if she brings it without ice, I told her that was ok, I simply never had champagne with ice, 15 minutes later she asked to take our order, to our biggest disappointment, my order was wrong, my husband and my son-in-law breakfast were cold, we tried to find her because she never came to our table to see if everything was in order, but couldn't get a hold of her, so I eat my wrong order, and the rests of my family eat cold food. When she comes to deliver my daughter bloody Mary, my husband asked for a refilled of his coffee and my son-in-law for a juice, after 15 minutes we found her counting money at the register and asked her for our refilled, 10 minutes later she brought my husband coffee but never the juice, for my son-in-law. We waited for her, thinking she was going to bring the juice, at this point, we wanted to leave, so my daughter went to look for her and asked for the check, when we asked her if she charged us for the extra juice, she simply replied no, didn't even apologize for forgetting or anything. My intention with this review is so hopefully the manager can read this and educate the server that works that day on how important it is to have a good service, in how counting and picking up your tips are not priorities. If we were there for the first time, we would probably never go back. We will continue to enjoy our breakfast there, but I will make sure we are never sitting on one...
Read moreMy first and ABSOLUTE LAST time going! It took probably 15 minutes before we got asked for our drinks and the waitress didn't even stick around for us to tell her our appetizers. Then it took another 30 minutes for her to come back and see what we wanted to eat. We had to tell her we wanted appetizers and needed straws! It didn't take long for the food to come out WHEN THE WAITRESS FINALLY BROUGHT OUR TICKET TO THE KITCHEN, which was another 10 minutes after we placed the order. I got the roast and rice dressing and my food sat under the light until our other food was done. My rice dressing was THE NASTIEST thing I've ever tasted and it was dry from sitting under the light, then the "roast" didn't even have meat , it was just fat. I sent it back, and while waiting I got the privilege to watch half the staff walk around without anything on their heads; one in particular had long scraggly green hair that she was swinging everywhere, and she just stood in the window scratching her head, then fixed another customer some pie to go with the same hand she just scratched her head with. I've already worked in restaurants and we HAD TO WEAR HAIR NETS AND GLOVES AND UTENSILS NOT OUR BARE HANDS !! Then when they came to bring my food back to me the same nasty woman proceeded to put a bread in my plate, so I sent it back too because she was scratching entirely too much to play with my food!!! Then before we left the waitress tells me oh we took care of your food! SERIOUSLY!!!!!! I literally ate half a roll and ONE bite of dressing and yall thought I'd pay for it?!? LOL, I did pay for my over priced appetizer and sprite... Oh, and I wouldn't recommend the gumbo either bc my sister had a bowl of juice and rice, they forgot gumbo comes with meat!!!! The sprite was...
Read moreEvery year my husband and I travel all the way from Kentucky to Breaux bridge just for the crawfish festival. It is important to us that we immerse ourselves in the local flair including the dining. While we try new places every year the one we never deviate from is Buck & Johnny’s Zydeco Breakfast. We absolutely love everything about it. The environment, the food, the clientele, and most of all the music. Before I start let me preface this be saying that o come from a family who owned a restaurant for 24 years, so I have really high standards. First, no matter what, ALWAYS order the beignets!! They are just the best things ever! They are hot, and fresh! The breakfast menu is expansive and very cognizant of the culture that is southern Louisiana! Do yourself a favor and each order something different and share a little from everyone’s plate. You won’t be disappointed. Our waitress today was Deidre and she was on point. For the first time since 2017 they opened the event center side for overflow seating. She was the only waitress taking care of that side. Even though there were some unruly customers trying to make her life difficult, she prevailed and delivered outstanding service to that table as well. The only negative I can say is that in the past they had a signature Bloody Mary which was top shelf. They did not have that this year and it was greatly missed. I wound hope they would reincorporate that back into the menu. On a scale of 1-10. I give them an 8.5.
