Bailey's Bar might not scream "family-friendly" at first glance, but it's become an unexpected gem for our weekly family dinners, largely thanks to Salena, a server who turns dining out into a genuine pleasure.
Bailey's is cozy and inviting. It's the kind of place where the noise level is just right for lively family discussions, yet quiet enough that you can hear each other speak. They've managed to strike a balance between bar and restaurant that works surprisingly well for families. The kids' menu is a hit with my little ones, offering more than the standard fare, and the adult menu never fails to impress.
Salena, our server, is the heart of our Bailey's experience. She greets us with genuine warmth each Sunday, remembers our favorite tables, and even recalls how we like our drinks. Her patience seems endless, especially with my kids, who can be a handful. She suggests menu items based on our past likes and dislikes, and always has a kind word for the kids, asking about their week with interest that feels sincere.
The real magic of Salena's service is in the small things. She remembers that my daughter loves extra cherries in his soda or that my daughter prefers her chicken wings plain. She's quick to clean up spills with a smile, turning potential embarrassments into non-issues. Her presence at our table is both comforting and discreet, allowing us to enjoy our family time fully.
Our Sundays at Bailey's, thanks to the welcoming atmosphere and Salena's exceptional service, feel like a blend of casual dining and a personal touch that's hard to find elsewhere. It's a place where we can relax, knowing the kids are welcome and we'll be taken care of. Salena's attentiveness and ability to connect genuinely with both adults and children have made Bailey's Bar an integral part of our family's weekly routine.
In a way, Bailey's Bar with Salena's touch has redefined what family dining can be for us. It's not just about finding a place that tolerates kids but discovering a spot where families are truly embraced, messiness and all. Salena's knack for making everyone feel special, her effortless service, and her genuine care have turned our routine dinners into cherished family moments. Bailey's Bar might be an unconventional choice for family dining, but it's precisely these experiences with Salena that have made it our...
Read moreThere’s nothing to better start your Saturday morning than a good, hearty breakfast and a great tasting cup of coffee: Bailey’s is that place! I pass this restaurant often, yet I’ve never stopped to dine in, until today! I am so glad that I did! The service was truly top notch: from entry to exit! The servers, hostess, and waitresses were polite, friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming. I did not have to ask for refills on my coffee, my waitress kept the Java following. I had a guess with me and we both had a hearty, delicious breakfast! I ordered their Denver Skillet: scrumptious to the very end. Not one flavor, overlap the other: each ingredient came together to make for a delicious meal. I love coffee and typically, they aren’t that good at breakfast restaurants. Not the case at Bailey’s. I was able to drink the coffee without any sugar-in-the-raw or dairy. The coffee served here is just plain on good to the last drop! I sat and watch how staff interfaced with each other and the guest: they were excellent! My guest had crepes, with bacon which she fell in love with! The crepes were served with fresh strawberries and crème. She absolutely enjoyed her meal. We both, continued complimenting the food and service. The restaurant was very clean. It didn’t have that “food smell” that can usually be found in other restaurants. The restroom was clean. I always scope out restrooms because I believe if they’re unsanitary, the food preparation might be as well. The restroom was clean and had a fresh smell to it. The entry of the restaurant reminds you of an old country porch: hospitable and inviting. I hope this restaurant maintains its charm and cleanliness, as well as great service and quality food offerings. I will be returning. I don’t understand the negative reviews I see. I can only speak for my experience which was an excellent one. I walked away...
Read moreCame here with three friends before heading to downtown Tinley. My friend just moved to the area and had always wanted to try Baileys, so we stopped in for a quick shot of tequila.
I asked for 1800, and the bartender said they only had gold. I’d never heard of gold vs. silver 1800 before, so I was just trying to understand. I get that not knowing might make us seem young, we are, but we also just don’t have a ton of experience with different liquors. Instead of just explaining, she seemed annoyed and made me feel bad for asking.
Her response was “Do you have a ID.” I said “Yeah I do.” We all handed her our licenses. We’re all 22+, and our IDs scanned fine, but she still held two of them up to the light, whispered to her coworker, and said they “seemed off.” That felt unnecessary. At that point, we just took our IDs back and left.
As we walked out, my friend said, “Sorry we’re not alcoholics who know the difference between gold and silver,” and we went somewhere else. Overall, the vibe was unwelcoming, and we won’t...
