I called on Valentines day to ask if a reservation was needed and was told no and to come right in. The person answering the phone was slightly rude but ended cheerful so I thought I caught her at a busy moment. I found out my first assumption was right. When we got there we parked right up front, since I had never been there I asked the hostess if it was ok to park up front and she answered.. Aaaahhh Yeah, because the city F'ing F'd up their F'ing parking lot. I should have left then, but the reviews were good and pictures of food looked good. The hostess said sit wherever you want so we sat in the bar area. She came to get our drink orders and I said I'll have a glass of water and if I could get a cup of soup right away (I was feeling a little car sick). She then put her hand in my face and repeated WATER, and then looked to my date for his order. She brought our drinks back to table immediately with bruchetta. She walked away to answer the phone to which she spoke to them extremely rude as well. We went up to the bar to ask what our coke cost because we were done, she said don't worry about it and sarcastically said Happy Valentines day as we walked out. My boyfriend said that she had to be a family member or owner to get away with such terrible behavior. Another couple of people were going to go in as we were coming out and I said no food is good enough to tolerate that kind of unprofessionalism , they said oh yea the short rude waitress last time we were here we thought she was drunk. They turned around and left with us. So I guess I'll never know if food...
Read moreWe were seated immediately on an early evening Thursday. The waitress brought us menus, warm bread, butter and tasty salsa as soon as we sat down. BTW there where were 3 of us, one whom has an electric wheelchair and we were seated at a table with plenty of room. Special of the night was pot roast and potato pancakes. There was enough on the plate for 2 or 3 meals, with lots of tasty meat, gravy, carrots and celery. Two thick potato pancakes. It also came with soup or salad. The salad was crisp and fresh! The dressing was good too! My husband got the prime rib. It came with green beans, baked potato, and salad. He ate the whole thing! He was also impressed with the nice piece of prime rib, not a lot of fat and a good size, he got the small one but it looked big. Our friend got the veal parmesean. Huge portion! There were 3 large pieces of breaded veal on a bed of pasta. The only complaint was that the red sauce was too thin, almost watery, but I think it may have been that the noodles weren't drained enough and it watered down the sauce. He was very happy with his meal and had enough left for 2 more meals. All in all we had a pleasurable dinner. Our waitress, Dana, kept asking if we needed anything, was always smiling and was very attentive. Even the owner came by and spoke to us a few times making sure we were satisfied. A couple who sat near us had burgers and their homemade chips. The plate was huge, the burger looked delicious and who doesn't like homemade chips. We can't wait to go back and try other things...
Read moreI had the chicken parmesan sandwich for my main course. The chicken breast was huge and covered in sauce. It was absolutely delicious, melt-in-your-mouth and very flavorful. The chicken was very tender and the homemade chips that it came with are top-notch. (I get them with every meal.)
I wasn’t able to snap a photo of my sandwich, but afterwards I overheard the people in the restaurant talking about the Reuben soup, so of course I had to try.
It is pictured below and was fantastic. It had a creamy broth with sauerkraut and pieces of sliced corned beef. It came with rye bread cubes on the side to put on top. The Reuben is my favorite type of sandwich, so this might be a bit biased, but it was very good.
I am a regular here. Definitely recommend.
Oh, and they...
